If it's not too much to ask, I would like to formally request that the first person on this forum to purchase TESIV with the new Pocket Guide make it a priority to type up the Morrowind info for us. The other sub-mods would probably appreciate info on their provinces as well. The bottom line is that the lore contained in that book is essential and even while people are hard at play with Oblivion, those of us without it can work on lore-related tweaking if we can have access to it. Thanks.
Good idea! Smile
Happy to comply with summarizing Current Events.

EDIT: Was bored, so I typed up, word for word, all the info from Current Events, Morrowind Section. See way down.

Vivec, along with the Nerevarine, has vanished. Helseth, following the Empire's wishes, has outlawed slavery. Due to this, there was a bloody conflict. Helseth said in response to this "If there is to be a revolution, it is best done by a King."

Helseth also has reformed the Grand Council. Whereas before he was refered to as an Imperial figurehead (the outlawing of slavery being a major cause), this lessend thet, and was reviewed as a return to tradtional Dunmer ways.

To sum up a Nord Dimplomat's ideas about Helseth, "The new king is manipulative, ruthless, and calculating. He is exactly what Morrowind needs."

House Hlaalu is still on the rise, and it surprised me that Dres is too. And the two Temple-affiliated houses, the Indoril and Redoran, are waning. This didn't surprise me so much.
I'll be making a scan soon enough...
I would have scanned it tonight, but the UPS truck didn't show up today... that guy better get fired... I might be able to pull myself from the computer long enough tomorrow to do so, but don't count on it.. Cool
 thanks guys, I am sure we all appreciate your generosities and efforts
Quote:Whether the mysterious figure who arrived in Morrowind was truly Nerevar reborn cannot be known, but the repercussions of that arrival on the shores of Vvardenfell may not yet be fully realized. Dagoth Ur and two members of the Tribunal, Almalexia and Sotha Sil, were destroyed in the Nerevarine's fury. Vivec too may have been killed, but his fate is currently undetermined. The Nerevarine likewise has vanished.

During this time, another legendary figure, Queen Barenziah, also returned to Morrowind. The sudden death of King Llethan, and the subsequent coronation of Barenziah's son Helseth, was the source of much discussion, but as one Nord diplomat famously put it, "The new king is manipulative, ruthless, and calculating. He is exactly what Morrowind needs."

The young king has been somewhat of an enigma, both to outside observers and to his own subjects. One of Helseth's first edicts as King seemed particularily designed to dismantle the traditional power structures of the Dunmer. In accordance with the longstanding wishes of the Empire, he outlawed slavery throughout Morrowind. The reaction to this was bloody, as could be predicted, though the alliances formed were far from expected. As Helseth himself put it in a speech to his people, "If there is to be a revolution, it is best done by a King."

Actions such as this have led many to label King Helseth as the latest in the line of Imperial figureheads, though some of his other actions would cast doubt on this pronouncement. Helseth's reformation of the Grand Council, which includes the heads of all the Great Houses, was seen by some as a return to more traditional ways.

The Great Houses themselves, long stagnant, are adjusting to the new powers in the land. Some, like Dres and Hlaalu, appear to be on the rise, embracing the new traditions while welcoming the return of the old. Others, like Indoril and Redoran, seem to be waining, unable to change with the times."
Great info SkyShadowing, I copied it over to the Lore board Smile
'Tis always my pleasure to help my fellow modders (despite the fact I seem to be out of modding).

EDIT: Odd how it makes out the Nerevarine to kind of be a bad guy, eh?
