please post offerings for the Original and Genuine Black Marsh Edition of the Botany Books here. Big Grin

Please note that while it is the intention of the Botany Books to provide a service that is available in and to all the Provinces and to respect their requirements, strict observance of protocol and credit will be maintained, and the editor retains the right to withdraw the use of the Botany Books and contents from any group that does not fully understand and respect the normal and proper academic conventions. Judgement as to any dispute on this question must remain with the originator and editor.

It appears that due to a proprietory dispute between the only Original and Genuine Botany Books and Swedish Fish that the Botany Books has to be withdrawn from Black Marshes itself. But keep on banging the entries in, you're doing great guys, and I hope that the dispute will be resolved soon. :goodjob:

These names sound familiar too, if they are quotes from in-game stuff then it is very important to say so as this forms a powerful basis for your own input.

...snip...as what I want to do is create a differnt and clearly recognisable style for each of the different races.

Not sure which race yours would be as yet.

:alert: Having said this if there is anything more you can add from in-game - screenies of seeds, leaves etc, that will help us to create concept art and construct models later!
Marsh Moss
The common moss of Argonia. This moss has very modest alchemical qualities and is not very useful. Eating it raw is hazardous, causing cramps and diarehha. However, like all flora and fauna, it has its place in nature. The marsh moss grows in a variety of areas ranging from rcoky outcroppings to the edges of swamps. Though not extremely useful, and simple in design and nature, the moss is a sure sign of a water source, often this moss will only grow in the cleaner water sources and so are a great omen for weary travelers of the Black Marsh.

Blue Moss
The ignorant would step on this moss without a second thought. They might wonder at the blue color of the plant, and look around at its green cousins. But to the normal person, all mosses are one and the same. However, as Argonian medicine men can tell you, these mosses posses minor alchemical qualities. They only grow along certain streams in central argonia, and the best place to pick them is there. Without the constant flow of rich silty water, this unique blue moss will die. The blue moss can be used to make healing salves and can also be used as an antidote, something that is definitely important in the Black Marsh. However be warned that eatingit raw is unhealthy and can cause cramps and constipation.
:lmao: :bananarock:  :bananarock:  :bananarock: I just finished a bit of shameless advertising about his in reply to your last post about the roman pants, posted it and arrived here only to see that you had already come up with TWO posts for this...

Just how is an ancient editor supposed to keep up with you youngbloods? :worship: KKz rules!
The Hist Tree

What really is the Hist? A simple tree? a god? or an all knowing being? We know that Hist tree's are ancient, dating from before the First era. We also know the Hist tree has a very strong resin, that is great for holding things together and making armor which the dunmer covert. The Argonians worship these trees, and all there ceremonies are held around it. The rite of passage includes licking the trees sap. Botanists also believe that it's sap can cause hallutanations though these hallucatanions may only affect non argonian and for the argonians its sap may be medecine, a natuaral antidote for several of the desises of argonia and that argonians may be transformed by licking this tree at an appropiate age. We also believe that Births tend to be given near or around the tree, but for exactly what reason? The Argonians say "We are the People of the Root." meaning they derive from plant life, or the Hist tree. Many believe the hist is the before life and the after life. the Hist is sometimes called "The all Knowing." "Immortal Hist" and "The Wise Hist" all these refer to knowledge. Could this mean the Hist works as a giant library, where the minds or souls of every Argonian is kept, and being born neer it lets you tap into this wealth of knowledge. We only know of One Hist tree, located in Mirkwood, the capital of Argonia but many are said to be found deep in the inner swamps of argonia

The Spine Flower

The Spine Flower is a Carnivorous plant found only in the coast around Helstrom. It has various alchemical properties such as if eaten it can cause invisibility and its nectar can cause paralysis and thus it is commonly found in poisons. If mixed with lust weed it can create a deadly poison which in Cyrodiil is a remarkably new discovery though the Argonians have been using it for centuries. Their main preys are the mainly defenseless tapir?s. If you are wandering around the black marsh and smell a honey smell you have probably wandered near a Spine flower for when its nectar pollinates it smells of honey. Though the spine flower is small do not underestimate it for their spines are able to shoot out extremely quickly and within seconds of being hit by the spines you will be unable to move. This is when its roots attempt to drag you underground and devour you. Luckily its spines can only shoot a few meters before they lose their poison.

The Somnalius Fern

The Somnalius Fern can be found in the swamps of Black Marsh. The fronds from this plant are light green and quite delicate. Picking a frond can be very difficult, but once retrieved it can be used to put an enemy to sleep for a short while by just passing it under his nose. This can make a great poison for if you have the misfortune to be chased by a beastly naga then one arrow dipped in poison made from the Somnalius fern is shot into the naga then within a few second it shall be asleep leaving you the chance to escape. The Argonians use this plant in many potions, too many to list here.

Dragon's-Tongue

Dragon's-Tongue, common name for a fern like herb found in Black Marsh. It is especially prolific around the area of Utherus Swamp. It is a beautiful wildflower. Its name comes from the fire red fronds that protect its golden flower. As pretty as it is, it is a deadly poison to most living beings and needs to be avoided by adventurers. It is said, however, that Argonians can pick the plant and use the sap derived from its roots as an enhancement. If you have the fortune to pick one o these flowers and not poison your self the Argonians believe this is a omen that you will do great things with your life.
Cool keep em coming o elk worshiper. :]

I surspect that Perfessor KuKulzA will concur that you have earned a degree in Black Marsh Botany, and are on the way to a doctorate!
don't forget to mention the other sentient and nonsentient creatures o teh Black Marsh
Nagas, Argonians, Sarpa, and Paatru are the more reptile/amphibian types...

otherwise, good work :goodjob:
Naga?s

Naga?s are one of the sentient beings in the black marsh. They live in ?nests? built in the inner swamp made of tree leaves and wood. Unlike the argonians most of them are hostile and have taken up to raiding caravans and killing the people inside. They are simple and un-advanced but have the strange ability to puff up and become larger. Possibly this is used to scare away enemies or intimidate the caravan owners. They are cannibalistic and will eat any meat they find. Their hearts have several magic properties such as increasing ones resistance to deasises many researchers think that this property of their hearts enables them to live in the inner marshes and survive without catching any thing from the swamp.

Hackwings

Hackwings are giant birds with long, saw-like beaks nearly the size of the rest of their bodies. They are non-sentient and have the annoying tactic of swooping down giving you a nasty chop then flying back up and waiting till you die of blood loss after that they eat you even if you aren?t dead. They are extremely common in the black marshes and may be distantly related to the cliff racer. The cliffracer is another avian may be found in the continent of Morrowind. Its beak has is poisoned and the poison increases your blood flow which makes it easier to die from blood loss. The sap from the hist tree is a antidote for this and the Argonian medical men can heal this for a small fee.

Mudcrabs

Mudcrabs are a small crab that are common any were there is water. They feed on Oysters and shellfish.Mud crabs are shy and prefers to live and breed among sponge colonies, under rocks and debris along the edge of water. They also create burrows along the waters edge to sleep in and this can get very annoying for these are small and easy to step in and sprain your ankle. Their meat is used in restore fatigue potoins and they are weak and easy to kill. Although their pincers look the same size one is usually bigger than the other.
don't forget that ther is speculation that Nagas are a race of Argonians... liek Sarpa and Paatru perhaps.... some speculate that at a certain age Aergonians can lick a Hist tree and transform... Confusedhrug:
Nagas CAN live in cities and are as smart as Argonians but... well... they are violent and savage... so they'd get in trouble
