Well, why not? It is always nice to see more visual variety in ES games, which seems to be absent from most games these days. What I was thinking was to start a team to create a modder's resource specifically for Silgrad. What this mod takes must meet certain guidelines (which I may add to):

- Must be a misc item, soul gem, key, ingredient, clothing, a book, Alchemical tools/products, armor, weapon, architecture, etc...
- Cannot use textures, meshes, etc. from any previous Elder Scrolls game.
- Must be a new texture or a new mesh (or both Smile )
- Does not replace anything in the original game (meaning DO NOT replace textures or meshes with your new ones)

all of the above OR

- The permission of the core of this project (project of a project Big Grin )

It is best just to run through it with me first, however

It is not obligatory that you join, in fact, finishing Silgrad Tower is more of a priority. Therefore, I suggest you only do things for this mod when nothing else is much of an issue.

What you create is up to you! It can be anything simple from a retex (see screenshot below) to the whole set of worn armour for everything in the game. Please keep in mind that Silgrad is in Morrowind though.

Some tips for people who do not know how to retex:

You'll need these programs:

NIFSkope: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles..._id=170735

TES4BSA: http://www34.brinkster.com/ghostwheel/

paintshop or another photo editting program that can handle Alpha Channels (try GIMP if you don't have any such thing: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/)

A program for converting to and from DDS (see the wiki): http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/ind.../DDS_Tools

And some good tutorials on the good old wiki:

For modellers:

Get either Blender or 3dsmax (Download Blender at: http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Home.2.0.html - Be sure to get the NIF plug-ins too)

Python 2.4 - Google it, I can't remember the site off by hand... Big Grin

And for tutorials, try: http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Tutorials.243.0.html

At least one of which is by our very own Greybeard! (I think...)
