Did you know that the forum adds named anchors at the start of every post, and that you can use those anchors to reference a specific post? It takes a bit of work, but here is one way to do it.

Querys are ways for your computer to communicate with a server-generated pages, such as the forum pages. Here is how the post-specific URL breaks down:

thread.php -- the page that displays a thread
?threadid=84 -- "I want to see thread number 84"
#post442 -- "I want to start reading from post 442"

1) Hover your mouse over the report button
2) Note the query in the status bar. Example: postid=442
3) Click the adress bar and make sure the cursor is at the end
4) The URL should end with the threadid query, everything else is (in this case) crap, and should be deleted from your URL. In this case the cursor should be to the right of 84. Example: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=84
5) after the threadid query, write #postXXX where XXX is the postid you got from hovering over the report button. Joined example: ?threadid=84#post442
6) Copy everything and use it as any other URL.

Full example:
http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/thread.php?t...84#post442
would not FAQ be the right location for this?
Rather the archive. When I posted that I hadn't discovered the note icons to the left of posts' timestamp. Wink
