TheImperialDragon has been working on some recoloured candles (detailed here), and I have been working on adding havok to the existing Oblivion candle meshes which is near completion.

My intention in starting this thread is to discuss how we would like to handle candles: as static objects (as in Oblivion), as havoked/movable objects, as collectibles, as carryable light sources (torches) or as a combination of the available options.

My personal preference is to have the candles set up as a collectible (take-home-able) havoked object. There are technical issues I have encountered converting the vanilla Oblivion candles but I think these can all be solved since we are creating from scratch.

Please discuss your opinion on the topic.
I think we should make new havoked candles and use them from the moment we can use them. Because there are a lot of fake candels in vanilla so that when you take the light source away, the light will still be there. So if we avoid that in our mod, it would be real cool Big Grin
I agree. Back in Morrowind, I used to decorate Rethan Manor with hundreds of candles... I don't expect to be able to do that this time around, but I still want to be able to decorate stuff.

What would be really awesome is if we pressed "use" on the candle, it would flip upright, and if we "used" it again it would go into our inventory. I don't have the slightest idea if it's possible, though.

The ones I made are retexes (or recolours really). But if you can copy the NIFNodes or whatever that contain the Havok data, or I simply redo the retexturing on the havok'd models, then it should also work fine. Of course, there are a lot of objects in Silgrad Tower that need to be havok'd, so is it something NINode-related that adds havok?
Hey guys, you might want to check this out, look at the furniture and candles(perticulerly) that are on this website, Its from the LOTR movies but that candle is wicked sick, Heres URL:
