I was listening to BobbyHood musics ( Elsweyr Music ), and it made me thought of Outcast's incredible musics performed by The Moscow Symphony Orchestra. It's an amazing adventure game released in 1999, and believe me, this game was a revolution Smile.

Near Christmas, the team released the complete soundtrack on their site. Here is the announcement.

What the point of the post ? Well, I thought you can use those musics in your mods. Some of them might fit very well the ambiance of Tamriel. For example, "Oriental Spirit" could be fine for the Elswayr confederacy.

The only problem may be the license. It's not very clear whether it is still copyrighted or not ?(
It looks like most of it is copywrite...
Thanks shamaz, that's a good tip. I found it strange that they just posted the mp3's without explaining what people could or couldn't do with it. Since they didn't, I'd have to put my money on that it is ok, but to be on the safe side I sent an email to them asking if it was ok or not. I'll report about their reply when I get it. Smile
it was the Aeneid Theme at the end that was a truly great piece of music, though others inspire such as World of Temples and the Oriental theme. Sadly the Aeneid Theme is not in this collection.

Course, the Chicken Rider theme that always played when i went for a run around the Central City was great for jumping... Big Grin

As for copywrite, it lasts the lifetime of th ewriter plus twenty yrs or so Confusedhrug: and they are charging for this download so it is all copywrite.
It didn't charge me for the download.
That's strange - but maybe whoever set it up did not know how? Confusedhrug:

Wonder who these people are ...
I have some serious uses for much of this music in several of our mods, if only it was available ...

Would not use it unless that composer comes forth an takes part though - use of commercially distributed music without the author participating and therefore receiving something in return is soul theft.

"I was goin' to write you a Christmas song that was just so full of joy, made me feel like a child again, playing with a brand new toy.

chorus
Soooouul stealer, bandit of my heart. Bright dream disbeliever. Ah we knew how it was from the start, for more money or a patron that you could not afford to offend... "

The problem is that Appeal, the Belgian company which made Outcast, declared bankruptcy during the development of Outcast 2 (12 August 2002) ;(
Maybe you can get more infos about the license by contacting a former developer of Appeal. I managed to find some names here : look at the credits section (on the right)

I hope this can help

edit: I found the website of the composer is here !

There is a lot of music freely available. You should ask him if it's ok to use some tracks.
On a related note, you can also look at some artworks from outcast 2.
I just think it's a pity that's this work will never be used Sad

It might give inspiration to some artist of Beyond Cyrodiil (especially Elsweyr Confederacy). But don't forget that these artworks are copyrighted
I found other musics inspired by Daggerfall :
