Here is the Layout for the School of Chivalry, this is a draft and subject to change, it does not include the Barracks, Dorm Rooms, Dining Areas, Kitchen, Temple, Servants Quarters and Teachers Quarters. This is just the Main Hall and Classes.

If anyone wants to claim any of the above Please let me know

Otherwise I will begin work on them as well

The School will offer the following training (modified of course to fit MW)

Prowess: Strength, LongBlade, Armorer,Block, Heavy Armour,
Blunt Weapons
To seek excellence in all endeavors expected of a knight, martial and otherwise, seeking strength to be used in the service of justice, rather than in personal aggrandizement.

Justice:Personality, Speechcraft, Mercentile

Seek always the path of 'right', unencumbered by bias or personal interest. Recognize that the sword of justice can be a terrible thing, so it must be tempered by humanity and mercy. If the 'right' you see rings agrees with others, and you seek it out without bending to the temptation for expediency, then you will earn renown beyond measure.

Loyalty: Willpower

Be known for unwavering commitment to the people and ideals you choose to live by. There are many places where compromise is expected; loyalty is not amongst them.

Defense: Willpower, Endurance, Spear, Medium Armour, Restoration
The ideal knight was sworn by oath to defend his liege lord and those who depended upon him. Seek always to defend your nation, your family, and those to whom you believe worthy of loyalty.

Courage: Willpower, Endurance, Intelligence
Being a knight often means choosing the more difficult path, the personally expensive one. Be prepared to make personal sacrifices in service of the precepts and people you value. At the same time, a knight should seek wisdom to see that stupidity and courage are cousins. Courage also means taking the side of truth in all matters, rather than seeking the expedient lie. Seek the truth whenever possible, but remember to temper justice with mercy, or the pure truth can bring grief.

Faith: Willpower, Intelligence
A knight must have faith in his beliefs, for faith roots him and gives hope against the despair that human failings create.

Humility: Personality
Value first the contributions of others; do not boast of your own accomplishments, let others do this for you. Tell the deeds of others before your own, according them the renown rightfully earned through virtuous deeds. In this way the office of knighthood is well done and glorified, helping not only the gentle spoken of but also all who call themselves knights.

Largesse: Personality
Be generous in so far as your resources allow; largesse used in this way counters gluttony. It also makes the path of mercy easier to discern when a difficult decision of justice is required.

Nobility: Personality
Seek great stature of character by holding to the virtues and duties of a knight, realizing that though the ideals cannot be reached, the quality of striving towards them ennobles the spirit, growing the character from dust towards the heavens. Nobility also has the tendency to influence others, offering a compelling example of what can be done in the service of rightness.

Franchise:
Seek to emulate everything I have spoken of as sincerely as possible, not for the reason of personal gain but because it is right. Do not restrict your exploration to a small world, but seek to infuse every aspect of your life with these qualities. Should you succeed in even a tiny measure then you will be well remembered for your quality and virtue.

Hi there bob#####s,

I suspect that you have renamed the Fighters School that is to be somewhere bordering the swamps, or up north in another District right? Would you like me to add some of the Lore we have discussed so that whoever takes up this claim has a firm grounding?

I expect the competing Dunmer School of Chivalry will be in the Main University Compound and start out as a wing of the same building as the school of Magic?
Howdy

No this is not a rename, this is the School of Chivalry I had talked about doing early on. It will be sanctioned by the Empire and I'm thinking to locate it in Morrowind but on the Boarder which connects Skyrim, Morrowind and Cryodiil (location is still optional)

It is my intention to offer joinable Knight Orders, through the individual Temples serving the Nine Divines, They player will join the temple of their choosing and advance by means of tasks to the rank of Adept Exemptus once this rank is obtained the Temple Priest will offer the player the option of continuing on with Priestly duty in which case they will continue tasks to obtain rank, Priest, Magistar and then Magus and will be done.

or If the player chooses, they may become a Knight of the Order, in which case they will be given a document and directed to report to the School Head Master, the player will then start as rank Aspirant and be trained and tasked through the ranks to obtain Rank Knight Brother (rank 6)
Once this rank is made they will be given a certification and directed to report back to their Temple Priest, the priest will Enter them into the Order and they will continue on with tasks until they reach rank 10 (Paladin)

I am still working on a draft for the details... ie. tasks and rewards etc etc
and also working on the lay out of the school as seen above

How will this all fit into our Cerro/University....I don't know yet, it may not fit at all. But I am sure we can come up with some kind of common denominator...

I could use your help with writing some books and scrolls !!!!

I have 3 quests which require books or scrolls for the temples, the scrolls can be generic, they are nothing more than temple teachings and not specific to any particular temple, the books however a individual books of rituals for each of the specific Divines and will be required reading for the player to reach rank Adept Major (rank 5)as the player will be tasked with performing the ritual without the book, so it must be read and in detail, each will have 3 phases, Ritual of Candles, Ritiual of Sacrifice and Ritual of the Anointed, the only difference in these 3 rituals is the Sacrifice, because each Divine will require a different sacrifice.

Thats bout it for right now once I get the ranking structure and basics written out I will post them for review and suggestions...then it will be a matter of recruiting some help

EDIT: I should point out that I plan on making these Temple and Knight Quests a bit more advanced, so it will require a player with character level of at minimum 10, if the player goes to the temple to join they will be told (if below level 10) the they have not gained enough experience and to return later

Howdy

This is a quest line in development all suggestions are welcome

It is my intention to add to Silgrad Morrowind 9 Temples devoted to worship of the 9 Divines and a School of Chivalry which will be offered to any player for a price or to an aspiring Temple Adept Exemptus

In this draft I am covering only the Temple Aspect by which as memeber of the Temple can enter in to a Knightly Order

Their are many details which still need to be worked out but this rough draft will give indication to the extent of contents and the path direction for the player.
Details of the individual tasks can be more clearly defined if needed and or changed to more represent the Knightly Teachings.

Comments and Suggestions are welcome but please keep the discussion to the context of the draft

Enjoy

I started with Akatosh

here are a few ideas for the exterior layout of the Temple Building

As you can see I gave the Main building a little color, I will be doing some retexure work on whichever one is decided on but not alot, the trim mostly.

no meaning to offend but a Velothi dome on Imperial architecture?
maybe a retexture to make the dome look Cyrodiilic? like having pillars on the bottom and the dome being white stome? I dunno
Depends if it was an early Imperial building in Morrowind maybe they were trying to appeal to the then 100% Temple population?

Also important is whether this is part of a Fort?

There are 9 Divines temples using Fort Blocks on Vvardenfell, and that is because they are part of the Forts ... that gives you a free hand if you are creating a 9 Div temple separate from a Fort.

Take a look at the Daggerfall 9 Div Temples = very luxurious and civilian.

All the best.

no, that would be wrong... because it is sacrilage

if you have a god... say his symbol is a large circle. so you invade a country, ill lots of their people, steal their stuff, create your own government... then you tear down their god in their church and you put in your god's big circle...

I think thats a HUGE insult.... even if you made their lives hard, you just HAD TO tear down their faith, their soul-sanctity, and their after life...

thats what i mean. seriously... Buddhist Temple being torn down my Christians thinking they are doing you a favor. Aztec temples demolished and CHurches built on their foundations. Muslims bringing down a shaman's hut and putting up a mosque...
especially considering these are Redoran and the Dunmer in general are a quick-to-anger people, tight with honor and respect and taboos...

thats my point... Confusedhrug:

Yes my plans are to retexture them to be more Imperial

Pillars would be a nice touch Thanks

Bob

*** EDIT***

I also plan to retexure the temple to be a bit softer, make it look more like a temple then a fort, but I will be keeping the fortification which surounds it
And of course theirs always the Lumen Julianii Design Temple , which is fantastic as is, this can be modified slightly to suit each of the Different Divines

It would also add the architectual consistancy throughout Morrowind
and I can still add a small fortification near the rear or side of the Temple

btw the fortifications are mearly a place where the Knights can call home
