I thought you guys might find this useful. There's a new CS Wiki article posted by some Bethesda developers on Version Control.

This is a huge breakthrough if it works!

This might just be able to merge more than 1 GB? If so, then this will prove invaluable, thanks. Smile What do you think, sandor?

It will be interesting to see exactly what is possible with this.
cool.

Great news. Smile

As said before by dev_akm in this ESF thread we can merge esp files to a very large esm.
So there is problably no size limitation.
I am planning to buy Vista and test this issue.

The network based system used by Beth is an easy way to maintain the esm (with many people working on the same project) and explains how they created the very large Oblivion esm.

The idea of Qazaaq (posted on the ESF thread) to use hamachi to simulate a LAN could work, so I agree with dev_akm.

By the way dev_akm and KomodoDave thanks for creating TES4Gecko! :goodjob:
You're welcome!

I think it's very likely the official CS method of merging will be superior to TES4Gecko in many cases if we can get it to work correctly. In any case, it's one more weapon in the arsenal of tools, which is always a good thing. Smile
Sounds like great news!
