WIP update:

Just in case you want to check out the interior, I am just about done with it. I do not have the NPC's yet. RL needs me tonight, so I have to get some sleep. I should be done with them by tomorrow.

Layout:

Room with banners: Enlisted Mess
Room directly above enlisted mess: Officer's Mess
Service hallway connects Officer's Mess with Kitchen
Below the kitchen is the store house

There will be a cook (retired guard) and a helper (not-so-bright kid that the cook saved a few years back.)

Cook dialogue snippits:

"The ones in the enlisted mess hall? One for each castle in Cyrodiil. It's to remind the boys what they are {fighting for} (may replace with "guarding") in these god-forsaken lands. Twenty-seven years I spent as a guard. Just trying to do my part to make it easier for them to do theirs."

Edit: Attached correct esp
I get a duplicate error for the ST land (worldspace) because it's in mod index 00.

You used the ST esm v2.5 for modding which caused this problem.
This esm is load order independent and the ST land was moved to mod index 00. Don't use this esm for modding!!


Remove the links (use the ST esm v2.5) you added (new doors), post the updated esp and I'll fix it. You'll have to redo the exterior work.

I ran TES4gecko on the esp and cleaned it - I don't get that error anymore and I don't have to redo the work it seems. Anyways, here is the cleaned esp

Edit: BTW, the castle walls in the exterior cells are still not there. It is ok though, I place it within the travel esp (no saving, no active file), copy the 3D data and just pop those into my esp. Will be doing that mainly with SHC29 though... Or again, am I missing something. :dunce: BTW, I'll stop being so needy after this claim.
The problem is still there because your file has to be loaded with the ST esm v2.57 (ST land has modindex == 01) and you used the ST v2.5 (ST land has modindex == 00) ---> This results in a duplicate error.

Remove the links (use the ST esm v2.5) you added (new doors) and save the esp, post the updated esp and I'll fix it. You'll have to redo the exterior work.

Do not use (alter) the Travel esp for modding.

If you use the ST esm v2.57 you'll see the castle walls (also without the Travel esp).

I removed one loading error (CS).
Just so I know, approximately how long has Steadhelm existed - say 65+ years? Was it simply a small fishing village back then? Or was it a fort from the beginning? I looked in the Silgrad Lore section of the forum but couldn't find anything about Steadhelm there.

Two more things before I can finish this mod -

1. Do I have to include a sound file for the text to stay up for longer than about 2 seconds? (aka silent mp3) I have NO voice acting talent nor do I know anybody that could fit the roles I envision for the NPC's.

2. (completely optional) Can I merge SHC38 and SHC29? If not (most likely answer I think, and probably better for it) should the mods to SHC29 (inner gate towers) connected to SHC38 (the outer gate towers) be in 38 or 29. The exact thing is that the cooks from the outer towers will have their beds in the inner towers. Which esp should the beds and xmarker be a part of?

On a side note - did you get to tour the interior of the outer towers? If so, what did you think?

1. No, it's included when we create a public version via the TES4Gecko.

2. You may, make sure you have a backup of the two files (the version before you merge). Keep in mind that the file #1 overrules file #2.

My first impression of the interior --> A nice modding job. Smile
