Well, I have a suggestion of a large subquest for the Morag Tong, and I think that you could get it from a high member, not the leader, as he only take care of the writs.

You will get a normal writh from your master, and when you are going to preform it, you see another assassin going into the targets home, and you decide to stay outside, waiting for the other assassin to go out.
When the assassin have left you go inside and find your target allready dead. You return to your master and tells him that you couldn't do the execution as someone beat you to it. Then he tells you to go talk to his second in command, as he/she is the one taking care of all the other things beside the Writs. When you tell him that you couldn't do the writ he will ask you why, and you'll tell him that someone else killed the target before you could.
the second in command is of course conserned about this, as you also told him that it was not a DB assassin. It looks that we have some competiton...

Well this is just the begining, and I could use some help with coming up with alot more smaller quests to figgure out who/what this new assassination guild is, and who's there leader. And what should be done to take care of this matter.

What do you think?
I think that the next quest that you could do after telling what have happend could be something like this:

You get the task to follow one of your fellow assassins as he/she is going to do the next writ that has been asigned. As your "friend" takes care of the writ, you watch out if someone from the rivalising guild are coming to do the job too.
As you think that your friend should be finished, a guard comes along, walking towards the pace where the job is being done. To your surprise the guard walks straingt into the place.
after a while the guard comes back out, and starts to walk slowly the same way he came from. As he passes your hiding place you get a short but very clear view of his face, and you see a very distinctive mark on his face (something that can be done, maybe a big scar).
Then you walk in to the place from where the guard came out from, and inside you find your friend dead as the target.
As you get out of the house, you don't see the guard anywhere, but you walk donw the street that he took.
In a dark corner of a house you will see a bunch of cloaths, and as you get closer you see that it is the armour that the guard had. He was gone. But this time you have see him, and now the hunt will begin.
You get back to your guild hall and tell the bad news, even if you have a small good news that you now can identify the man that did this.

The next mission could be somthing like going out into the city asking around for a man that matches this description, and if/when you find him you will have to follow him, as he takes a walk, even if the walk leads to nowhere, to shake of eventual followers, you see him get into a small house in the middle class area. Now you know where they probably are hiding.

To be continuedBig Grin
It's definately intriguing... But why would another guild perform the writ if someone has already paid the Morag Tong?

Other than that, this is very interesting, looking forward to hearing more ideas. Smile
I think a good reason for this is...
its not that there aren't other assassins in Morrowind... its just the Morag Tong is the most powerful.. and legal...
now perhaps a Dark Brother, or another assassin group, like a small private clan-based assassin group is frustrated with the Morag Tong... or hell it is even very concievable that a small shady assassin-clan will be distrusted by local people, enough for the hetman or noble to get a writ on them.... a prominent clansman was killed and the clan is out for vengeance.... as clan loyalties don't care if you are Dunmer or n'wah, the blood-debt must be repaid...

so maybe a private assassin clan is out to get the Morag Tong back for killing one of their members... something the Morag Tong did for the money, to please Mephala, and to kill competition... though the pleasing Mephala part is their main goal... they aren't as mercenary as the Dark Brothers are...
Nice Idea Trankintor

I think the premise of this quest is that someone or someone's are trying to undermine the Morag Tong, maybe they have a saboteur in their ranks or maybe it is just a rival start up group.

If the latter is the case then I would assume that if the Morag Tong was hired to perform a writ, this group or person would have access to this information and perform the writ and present themselves to the writ giver for payment posing as a member of the Morag Tong

Or even the DB posing as Morag Tong

either way its a good mystery to solve :goodjob:

well, I have tought of it that this new assassin guild begun with gathering new members, mostly people that weren't qualified to join Morag Tong and then started there new guild. But they didn't begin with killing people right away, they begun to make them a guild hall, sort of, and then they begun to shadow the Morag Tong's guild hall, taking notes of who went in and out, who were assassins and who were people that wanted the Morag Tong's services.
After following some of the assassins to have a better look at them, and seeing them doing there work, they desided to start doing the Morag Tong's writs instead of Morag Tong them selves.
And after doing that, they begun to sperad rumors about that the Morag Tong couldn't do there work, and that it was a new faction that could take care of the jobs much better.

And I have some kind of ide for the leader of this new assassination guild. It coud be a very skilled assassin and his name is (Drego Klep? best I could come up withTongue) and he was suposed to be taken up into the Morag Tong familly, but the Morag Tong found out that they didn't want him, they didn't want to have a bad reputation of making there targets unidentifyable(?). As Grego Klep, who is an Imperial btw, had a bad habbit of choping his targets up in pieces, and that was not what the Morag Tong wanted, as they are somewhat civiliced after all...
After that Drego was very offended and swore that he would have his revenge on the Morag Tong. And thus he began to shadow the Guild hall asking all the people that didn't make it into the Morag Tong to join his new assassination guild, and the guilds name would be (a good name for an assassination guild), and most of the first once did accept and thoes that didn't, was put away by his new members to test there skills.

Pleas comment on this tooSmile
Ok Lets start with this, it is always reasonable that some people trying to gain access to any guild or group are denied for various reasons, in the case of the Morag Tong race is one of them. Typically you will not find an assassin in the MT who is not Dunmer, with 1 exception in MW where their is an Orc, doesn't mean it couldn't happen, its just not likely.

So that could be a good basis for your characters denial into the Tong or you could change his race to dunmer and use your idea of being to overly brutal

So this character denied access to the club he enjoys the most, takes out vengence against them by starting a rival organization, its a good idea, but they have a rival, the DB, they surely don't need more rivals.

Suggestion:

Your character works alone or with 1 or 2 followers, 1 of the followers is accepted into the Tong and works undercover to provide your main guy the information about the writs. The other does the preliminary work, following the target around to understand the routine...etc etc.
And the main guy, waits till he gets the word that the writ is going down and steps in before it happens or (as in your previous suggestion) as it happens..... the word gets around that the tong is getting sloppy and you (the PC) is asked to investigate what is going on before things get back to HQ

Enjoy

That is a good suggestion tooSmile We could change his race to Dunmer too. And that about only 2 followers is good too, and one is an infiltraitor and the other is the one that take care of the jobs.

One of you next quest could be that you will be told that the Master of the Morag Tong has made so that a peron will come with a false writ, and present it a bit more in pubic to you (PC), and that you shoud go to a house, that will be empty, and in a neighborhood where they don't care that much, and then you will have to run there to be there and wait for the other assassin that is suposed to do the job for Drego.
When he comes in into the house, you first don't recognice him, as he has fancy clothes, as a nobleman, but then you see his face.
You sit in a dark corner in the house and watches him as he searches the house for his target, when he comes close to you, you begin to talk to him, and then you have a short chat with him about him killing one of your frineds, and he ain't sorry about that at all.
Then you start to fight him, and eventyaly kill him.

after that you can go back to the Guild hall and tell them in public so that everyone can hear, that you was suprised by another assassin that then tried to kill you. then the Leader says that we probably have a fraud here in our hall.
Then you see a person in the back of the assambled group of assassins running towards the door, and you get the command from the Leader to hunt him down, no matter the cost. He have a hastly writed down writ that alowes you to kill the person that you are hunting, and it will keep you out of truble from the guards if you are caught in the hunt.

as you hunt him/her, he/she runs into a dead end, there he/she begins to talk to you. You ask who his/her employer is, and you get the name Drego Klep, and a location where he have his little guild hall. after that he/she asks if you can let him/her go, but the only answer to that is, NO, as he/she have been a part of killing one of your frineds.
after the traitor is dead, you head back to the guild hall, and tell the good news that the traitor now is dead.
You now talk to the Leader and tell him the name of the responsibe to this plot, and his location. When he hears who is behind this he is much conserned about this. He now will ask you to take care of this man for good, but he doesn't think that you are capable of doing this alone, so he will send the second in command with you to help.

When you and the second in command comes to the location where Drego is hiding, you go in and the it is a conversation about why he did this, then it comes up that he wasn't accepted becouse he was such a "brute" as they put it.
Then it is a fight, a hard one, and during that the second in command is badly wounded and die after the fight, but he/she tells you before he/she dies that you probably would be a great new second in command.

When you get back and tell the both good and bad news there is a relief in the entire hall. And after that you are promoted to second in command.

this makes it so that this quest have to begin in the somewhat end of the entire Morag Tong quest line, as it now won't be much further to bo the new Leader, if you now can get that possiton...

Comments?
cool quest maybe name the new morag tong competitors the crimson scars :bananarock:
ahh we're already working on the morag tong mainquest, which draws from this, but uses the dark brotherhood.

And please stop the thread necro ok? This thread has been inactive for a while, and nothing new was added, especially since we're not using this in it's entirety. I notice you have done the same exact thing on many other threads.

If it is an inactive thread, and all you have to say is cool, just leave it alone, because it clogs up the forums with old discussions
