How does someone make a shiny object texture? Is it in the normal map?
Put a gray shade in the alpha of the normal map in the part of the texture you want to shine.

(The brighter this shade the more it shines)

Yeah, that works. :yes: You can also adjust the specular/gloss properties of the materials in NifScope.

Oh and if you want a shine like the one the Frost Atronach has I think that's done by some kind of a shader applied to the model.
I also think the piece of the model (NiTriShape) where the shine is applied needs an additional property (NiSpecularProperty Flag:1) set up in NifSkope for it to look right and to take advantage of the specular map.
