The only part that I did not like at all comes at about 2:29.
I don't know if it's possible, but what would it sound like to make the organ a trumpet instead?

There's no organ in it. I think you probably mean the solo violin - it's not the most realistic of sounds, unfortunately. And I don't have solo strings in the sample library either. Hmmm... might see if I can use something else for that bit. Trumpet might be a bit too bright and lessen the "subdued" tone of those quiet bits. Assuming it's the violin you're talking about. Ok, I'll start converting it for the sampler. Shouldn't take too long - famous last words. Thanks, guys. Smile

Well, you could take your computer to your parents and connect it to the internet.
done =)

great i love it
its much better then the ob song you can downlode on the elderscrolls.com
^Thanks! Smile

Ok, finished messing around with the sampler. Here's the link: ST_Ob_1. The sound isn't quite as clean as I'd like (I think playing 25 wavs simultaneously is pushing my system a bit further than it wants to go really) - let me know which version you prefer. If you want to download the original version to compare them, both can be found on my site.
Wow ... anytime I think it can't get any better you conjure an even more amazing version out of your sleeve.

Brilliant ... and pity my neighbours. Big Grin

Greetings

....it was beautiful! good job!
That was great! Bravo! :goodjob:

Your making this in a loop based program, right? Perhaps if you chop the song up (loops 1-10, 11-20 ect.) into separate files, then save each of those as indevidual .wav files, you could import those into a new file as loops so your only dealing with 3-5 loops for your full song?
It sounds outstanding! I'm glad you changed that instrument, because now it fits in much, much better. Awesome job! :goodjob:
Thanks, all. Smile

Ok, if the general consensus is that the sampler stuff sounds better, despite the small amount of distortion introduced, I'll stick with that. I'm going to try a few things and see if I can get better sound quality as well, but I'm not sure what can be done about it. Afraid I'm not much of an expert on sound engineering.

Trouble is, a lot of it isn't exact repitition. Not sure looping what can be looped would make much of a difference. Still, it might help a little. Just have to figure out how to do looping in Sonar. heh

Yeah, I remembered I had a disc of solo strings I'd forgotten about. Big Grin
Maybe it's just me, but I think people like the sampler (or the latest) version because the notes seem to blend together more smoothly. Some of the notes in the other version seem abrubt. Even with the extra noise, most of those sounds probably aren't going to be noticed inside the game. One time I decided to listen to the Morrowind music, and I couldn't believe how different (better) it sounded than while in the game.
What program did you use? Cubase? ?(
