I guess this is more of a concept idea then art, but we don't have a better forum for it, so I think I'll post it here.

My idea is to have Tollman guards along the road that speak with you as you take the trail. It's a force speak, so they talk to you.

"Excuse me pcrace%, but in order to pass, the Tollman Guard Guild asks you pay a small fee for keeping your trails safe."

Then you may respond with several responces.

"I refuse"= no admittance, you must go around or fight the guard, or flee Tongue If you kill a guard your faction points with the Royal Court goes down.
"pay 10 gold"=Admittance pass the check point, usually a bridge.
"pay 50 gold"=be escorted to the next check point.

These guards are very powerful, and know the country side very well, they can kill just about any creature that sneaks up on the trail, and being escorted is not a bad idea.

You can avoid the check point altogether, but that means taking the dangerous countryside, and risk loosing the trail.

Killing a guard is a poor alternative, because not only will creatures start inhabiting the trail more often, making it very dangerous, but you will loose crucial faction points if you wish to have anything to do with the Royal Court. However if you kill a guard your faction will go up for the Kleoptocratic Reformists, House Dres, and Highway Bandits. On this flip-side you will still loose faction for any Argonian tribes.

And just for you Kodoma, a screen shot. Tongue

I know I aint a part of the mod, but i really like the idea. It reminds me of the highway men that inhabit cyrodill. I like the idea of being escorted to the next point, that adds something new, which in my opinion will be worth the money.
Very good idea Smile

pcrace% = bad idea, gotta do several voice overs.. unless you just skip that part..

And the armor could use a retex to not have the Blackwood Company's Logo on it. (same with the shield.

Beyond that it great
Agreed, it should definetly not be a blackwood guard. I love the idea about the escort.
Ooooohhh, I'm lovin' it. :goodjob:

It could be really cool, though at times quite annoying. Maybe place them on every main road, and a few side roads. And There should be a Topic that allows the player to just walk off, and be attacked by creatures. Otherwise it'd force you to pay, which is kinda foolish. Wink
It's a good idea, and thanks for the screenshot TGW :goodjob:
And allowing a topic to walk off and get attacked by creatures is also a good idea, OoOoo... the horror of getting attacked
yes the horror... Black Marsh is deadly...

I like the idea GreyWizard, I like it a lot :bananarock:
Have them be Blackwood mercenaries that are under contract by the Royal Court. Seeing how the Royal Court is trying to keep power they have hired several mercenaries and have the Blackwood under their wing. However the Kleptocrats are very powerful lords in both economics and military. So im suggesting that if you kill a toll guard you say can get brownie points with the Kleptocrats but if you kill Kleptocrat Guards you get brownie points with the Royal court? Eh
The only reason I used the Blackwood Armor is because I could not find anything that would suite the Argonian better. It's just a temporary armor until we get something more suiting. In my mind Blackwood Company was kind of "evil" and in a very black and white way. The way I have envisioned the Royal Court is as a group of civilized, by imperial standards, Argonians that are trying to influence the ancient traditions of their ancestor's, and respect of the marsh and the hist. The royal court, in my mind, won't necessarly be "good", and at times, they will be rebellious towards the imperial influence, and even hostile to the Kleptocrats. They may even make use of assassinations. KuKu is more of an expert on the subject then I, so KuKu, I would gladly take any corrections. Wink

Player Refusal to pay is kind of like going out into the wilderness, you can't continue on the trail without a battle, but you can take your sword to the beasts around the trail, and get back on the trail once you pass the guard. But don't let him catch you Tongue
