This definately needs editing and input, but I think it could add a great deal to the current political situation in Elsweyr.


Desert Corps Emergency Directorate

In times of great turbulence in the empire, such as the death of an emperor with no successor, or revolution in the provinces, then heads of local agencies and branches of the Imperial Legion are encouraged to make assessments of the state of the empire and the provinces. If they determine the empire to be in peril and the central governing bodies of the empire to be compromised, then they are granted temporary autonomy by way of imperial decree. Primary goals to be secured in this time are the safety of the empire, stability of the provinces, and personal safety of agency members. In that order. May the empire stand atop the sands forever.

In times of Great Turbulence in the Empire, such as the death of an Emperor with no successor, or of Revolt in the Province of Elseweyr, and in the circumstance that all contact with the duly appointed Imperial High Command is severed, then Heads of Local Agencies in Elsweyr and the Commander of the Imperial Desert Corps are encouraged to gather intelligence and make assessments of the State of the Empire and the Provinces.

If these loyal subjects determine the Empire to be in peril, the Imperial Authorities in Elsweyr to be compromised and they find their lines of communication with the Duly Appointed Imperial High Command that is loyal to the Empire are severed, then by decree of his Imperial Majesty Tiber Septym they are granted temporary autonomy to conscript Local Forces, Forrage and Seize Essential Supplies, Commandeer Vessels and such Facilities as are needed and assume Overall Command of all Imperial Forces and Resources in the District of Ne'Quin-al and surrounding districts to re-establish proper Imperial Authority.

Primary goals to be achieved by these means are establish the Safety of the Empire, the stability of the Provinces, secure Strategic Imperial Properties and Facilities and ensure the personal safety of Agency Personnel. In that order and by any means nessessary.

May the Empire stand in Peace and Prosperity forever.

Spoken like a true Roman. Thats what oblivion largely igonored the imperials, a few buildings and a handful of names just don't cut it.
