Hello again, I remember getting excellent help with an earlier issue, maybe some of you geniuses could help out with this one? This is what I posted at the ES forums:

I am modding for Tamriel Rebuilt, and I have a few problems regarding distant landscape mesh, and meddling with both Tamriel and our own worldspace TrHammerfell.

I guess most of you know that TR is creating the Hammerfell province north west of Cyrodiil. I've been working on Rihad, the city located at the mouth of Brena River Hammerfell Map. As you can see it is obvious that although Rihad is located within our own worldspace TrHammerfell, it is also necessary to be visible to the player approaching the Fort Brena (located on the Cyrodiil side of Brena River), thus forcing us to place a part of Rihad there to see, altough the player has to enter Fort Brena and use a door to get to our own worldspace TrHammerfell (which again need to contain a part of Cyrodiil visible).

The problem is, vanilla Oblivion has the area around Fort Brena like this: Vanilla mouth of Brena River
I created Rihad making the area around Fort Brena look like this: Hammerfedlian mouth of Brena River
...and I want them to match!

So, basically I just fired up the CS, loaded the Tamriel worldspace and went bananas, copied the entire city of Rihad and placed it where it would be visible from Cyrodiil and lowered the landscape to make it fit its TrHammerfell counterpart. Then I opened up the Heightmap editor, loaded the Tamriel worldspace and thought I'd "File - Generate LOD - Full". First issue that worried me was this: Heightmap Editor Blackness... I'm holding the cursor over Anvil, and it's pitch black all around it. That means I can't verify if the heightmap editor has included the work I did lowering the cells north of Brena River, as mentioned above...
Anyway, after generating LOD I fired up the game and went for a stroll north of Rihad.

1: Distant land covering Rihad
2: Closing in makes some of it disappear entirely
3: Even more landscape vanishing...
4: ...revealing Rihad.

As you can see the alterations I did with the Tamriel worldspace didn't show up although I generated the distant landscape mesh as far as I've understood the CS wiki.

Is this a common problem? I know there are many major mod projects out there, and there got to be other modders experiencing these issues with editing the distant landscape mesh in Tamriel? Are there any other programs that can create the distant landscape mesh? I know tes4qlod does the distant statics, but this is the landscape itself, and I haven't found any solutions to this problem that is basically jeopardizing Rihad and its current shape as of now... I can't see why I shouldn't be able to make the game show a different landscape mesh when distant, or is this just one of those limitations?
Regarding your screenshots.

Looking at #3 and #4, these show the LOD mesh from the Oblivion - Meshes.bsa.

So your LOD mesh (HM editor) wasn't correctly generated and therefore the lowered landscape isn't visible --> The original OB LOD mesh is visible because of the fact that you lowered the landscape.

Go to the location in question and you'll see the lowered land below the LOD mesh.

Could you send me a copy of the esp/esm?
Please use the attached LOD mesh I generated based upon your file.

Obviously I don't have your Oot, HF esm and the related assets so the city isn't visible.

I checked in-game (more or less your screenshot #1) and the lowered land is there (screenshot).
Oh, I thought you had it from before Smile. Thank you, but...

How? Which evil kind of witchcraft did you use to make this happen?

Okay, I don't disagree with that Smile Btw, answering my own question, I guess this little topic

Finding your way in the Height Map Editing menu.

is the correct answer to my question about witchcraft? I can't understand how I've overlooked that one until now, I've searched and tried several solutions... Thanks again! I'll name my next kid after one of you
