Silgrad Tower from the Ashes

I ran a system recovery recently, and my copy of speedtree no longer works. When I try booting it, it will load the image of the tree, but the interface in the window it opens is just blank. I cannot click on the window, and when I try telling it to close, it immediately becomes non-responsive. I've tried deleting and reinstalling but for whatever reason the reinstall never finishes completely, and what does get loaded has the same problem.

Does anyone know how to remedy this problem?
