Full Version: Flora Distribution

The region generation can only do so much to generate the regions. Sometimes the landscapes need a bit more character and that's where landscaping and flora distribution comes in. Current region settings tend to only distribute a reduced number of flora types. This is because Bethesda themselves did a lot of the item placement by hand.

These lists are preserved for use by landscapers and for reference. PLEASE NOTE that any modders should be aware of border regions where the flora selections might merge to a degree. So here are the lists of flora designated to each of the regions so far:

Regions - Blackwood
Already Present:
 • Clouded Funnel Cap
To be added: Non-Harvestable (to be found under Static-blackmarsh-Flora)
 • BMFloraBromGreenStripe1
 • BMFloraBromGreenStripe2

To be added: Harvestable (to be found under Flora-blackmarsh)
 • Monstera Plant - approx. 1 in 3 cells
 • Amorph Titanium - approx. 1 in 6 cells
 • Bird of Paradise - small groups of approx. 3 every 4 cells
 • Sylvan Mushroom - groups of 1-2 in cells near the Everglades border
 • Nenuphar Lily & Victoria Flower (with lily pads) - approx. 1-2 groups of approx. 4 lily pads to each flower in most pools (avoid major waterways such as the Panther River)
To be added: Vanilla types (to be found under Flora)

As BW borders with Cyrodiil, all of the following vanilla types can be considered depending on the location. Their quantity purely depends on whether the modder wants to create a definite look or just add a sense of randomness:
 • Bog Beacon, Clouded Funnel Cap, Green Stain Cup, Stinkhorn, Pitcher Plant = recommended for low-lying areas.
 • Tiger Lily, Aloe Vera, Domica Redwort, Dragon's Tongue Plant, Lavender, Somnalius Plant = recommended for higher land.
 • Sacred Lotus, Water Hyacinth - recommended for watery areas in place of or accompanying 'Nenuphar' and 'Victoria'.

Other items:
 • Flora Fly can be added, preferably near water
Regions - Naga-Cradle Jungle
Already Present:
 • Elephant Ear
 • Green Stripe Bromeliads
 • Green Ti Plants
 • Saffron Crocus
 • Stargazer Lily

To be added: Harvestable (to be found under Flora-blackmarsh)
 • Dragon Arum - rare (to be found in remote locations - may need to be increased in scale)
 • Rafflesia - attached to the base, or relatively accessible areas, of most jungle vine roots.
 • Seedpod - SPECIAL SELECTION - this exploding item of flora needs to be strategically placed to enhance, and not interfere with, gameplay. Don't place near settlements and make a record of those that you place as the pathgrids of enemies are best avoided.

Other items:
 • Flora Fly can be added, preferably near water

Regions - Rottmere Everglades
Already Present:
 • Fungus Stalks (SI)
To be added: Non-Harvestable (to be found under Static-blackmarsh-Flora)
 • BMFloraBromZebraStripe - large groups of 3-7 underwater or half-submerged every 2 cells

To be added: Harvestable (to be found under Flora-blackmarsh)
 • Glo-shrooms - approx. 1 in 3 cells or as the location demands (need to be accompanied by small blue ambient lights)
 • Sylvan Mushrooms - small groups of approx. 1-3 in almost every cell.
 • Nenuphar Lily & Victoria Flower (with lily pads) - approx. 1-2 groups of approx. 4 lily pads to each flower every 1-2 cells (avoid major waterways such as the Panther River)
 • Oilplants - a native plant but, as it functions as a light, it affects the FPS so use sparingly around settlements and in some random locations (find it under Lights-blackmarsh).

As EG is built from SI preset cells, you can also make use of some SI flora such as: Swamp Tentacle, Water Root Pod & SE Pitcher Plant.

Other items:
 • Flora Fly can be added, preferably near water - not to be confused with the native mosquito of the region...
