When you least expect it, God throws something good into a nightmare.

As I was playing my newest character (Lilith, the Demon) I stumbled upon a nice new player home mod.

Mad Mage's Tower:

Some features include:
Living Chest (animated)
Imp Guardian
Living Book (Animated)
Living Walls ((Animated) Though hard to spot)
etc, etc.

Though, the thing I found most amazing was the portal. You walk in the door, and to your left is a little green rectangular portal. You enter it, and it takes you on a whirlwind adventure through a tunnel, with souls screaming as you fly past.

Now, what is a tunnel that leads to somewhere else in Black Marsh? Wink
Can you say rootworm tunnels??? hahahahaha

It's PERFECT. AND it's a modders resource. I'd definately suggest you looking at the mod, just to understand where I'm coming from.

EDIT by llamaranger: this doesn't really need to be important-ed any longer I don't think
Ah yes, Phitt is a master and has often dropped by these forums (usually on ST matters). I first noticed him for his work on 'Entius Gorge' (one of my favourites).

I wasn't aware of these features though, especially the animated stuff. At the moment, I'm sceptical as to the application of these features and their longevity i.e. would the living chest look out of place in BM? Would the use of such a tunnel eventually become quite tiresome if used frequently?

However, the idea of such a tunnel sounds amazing indeed! It could certainly be used for specialist locations such as the Hist Dimension. Could you get screenshots? I'm afraid I'm a bit too busy on other things right now.

Most likely the chest would be out-of-place, unless placed in an Anaster quest or something. Actually the book would fit very well in a quest for him, because it's a tome of necromancy that has an animated face on it. And when you activate it it moans at you then shoots a fireball.

I'll try to get a picture up. :goodjob:

EDIT: Here are some pics

"Tunnel" and "Tunnel 02" are the ones you wanted. Just imagine it swirling around you, and you can still look around, and hear the voices screaming. It's nuts. hahaha
Click Tunnel Mad Mages, etc etc. Tag on the left side, and it'll bring up all of them. I'm still editing.
I see how it might work now. You'd need to replace the moaning sounds with rootworm howls but it'd remain pretty much the same. I still think it would get in the way of things if it was used as part of the transport system but, as regards moving from one 'organ' of the rootworm to the next, it could be a revelation!

Like being sucked through a huge worm artery or vein, or falling vertically through one to another area....yeah, I totally see that!

Koniption
I was playing oblivion with the "Mountain tower" plugin, I found this...

A BlackMarsh reed fish
That looks just fine to me. Is it an open modder's resource?
I don't know, I am trying to learn more about the author of the plugin.
It also contains nice retextures of doors, chests and cupboards, a fish tank, and a nice alchemy container set(the ingredients can be automatically sorted)

EDIT: Ok, the author of the plugin is Sage Rime, but the fishes were created by Sjors_Boomchors

Special thanks to Sjors_Boomchors for his fish resources
Guess so. Tbh, I don't see fishes and alive waters as a priority. Creatures can only really be added later, after the landscaping is done...and we haven't even got any modded seawater areas yet. They'd certainly fit my plans for the coastal areas around the Parchlands where I was hoping to introduce KP's corals but it's a bit far off yet. Keep it in mind though....
