This thread contains links and small descriptions of a number of useful modding tools. The listed tools will cover most levels of modding, from basic to advanced, all are colour coded to show user level. The details the thread provides are:

Name - The Applications name
Description - A small summary of what the tool does
Link - Link to the homepage or Download page, homepage is the preferred link due to it being the authors website

No problem, decided to expand the contents due to how many helpful tools there are Big Grin, That reminds me got to update this soon with more tools.

There has been a 3rd party update to the Construction Set itself:

Oblivion Construction Set Extender and Bugfixes

It's called the Construction Set Extender (CSE). It adds features, fixes stuff, and I think it might prevent crashes that the CS suffers from (yet to affirm this, though, but I don't see why not).

Might need to see if it requires OBSE, and if so, what version....I think they've opened a Beth forum thread for CSEt.

Ibsen, do you think we should add this to the OP of this thread?

The tool does, OBSE v0020 Beta, you then have to launch the CS via the OBSE loader. OBSE docs explain that.

Thanks IS! I think I need to update my OBSE, then, once I decide to download the CSE. I have v19b, still.

Just for future link n' click handiness (since I don't see a linky for this yet) -

Here is the Bethesda RELZ thread for shademe's CSE:

He/she has included a quick listing of the features and fixes, within the "spoiler" tags, in their OP of the above thread.

Some example of fixes:

1) Good news for voice actors ! :lip-sync is now fixed for even Shivering Isles users. You still need CS v. 1.0, but you can now use this feature and have your game fully patched. Of course, the CS v1.0 can be downloaded free. More info on how to get this working, in the CSE's readme.

2) Icons saved with mipmaps, will no longer give error messages in the CS, and the icon image will show up in the CS, too. This is good news for me and Blackmarsh, because I am SOOO guilty of saving my icons with mipmaps.

And much more...

Of course, you still have to read the multi-page "README" that comes with the CS extender, to fully grasp what has changed, how, and how to use the new features.

I have not downloaded the CSE - yet. I plan to eventually, though.
