Description & Details

[/HR]

Once a proposed location for the homes of the families of invading Imperials and Dunmer forces, Rock Grove was established on the site of a destroyed copse of Hist trees. Predictably, this led to serious violent incursions into its territory in the early years of its history whereupon the town quickly garnered a reputation for being 'cursed'. Visiting priests refuted this 'ridiculous' idea but, after the Argonians became more friendly with Imperials, the Imperial forces were quick to hand it over to Argonian rule.

Since then, Rock Grove has become a sleepy place and has seen it become more or less what the Imperials had originally intended. It is a prime place for quiet fishing and is conveniently located for trade. However, as it is also on the fringes of Darkmoor there are still reports of vicious wildlife that serve to put off potential visitors, none more so than the spiders that have little regard for humanoid habitation. Furthermore, although some natives do live here, Argonians do little to protect the residents due to the grudge that many still bear.

Trade has dwindled by comparison with the slightly better fishing options offered by nearby Stonewastes and the more cosmopolitan (and better protected) town of Chasepoint further south. Therefore, the residents have become more insular and, combined with the effects of the eerie moors and the disdain of the natives, have become suspicious of outsiders.

This interior claim contains the home of Root-Stream, one of the few Argonians living in Rock Grove and very much apart from the other townsfolk. Root-Stream occupies himself with fishing and providing an access point for trade, perhaps in co-ordination with the owner of the lighthouse (see the lighthouse claim). Root-Stream can offer help on travelling through Darkmoor but will be reluctant to do so for just anyone.

He may be in the town offering simple services such as food and items of flora.

How to mod your interior

Interior modding carries with it the same responsibilities as it does on our father project, Silgrad Tower. This means that there will need to be NPCs, Containers, Lighting etc. For a really nice checklist that is very, very thorough, try this one from Zurke: A handy checklist to create an interior for ST . Zurke is the most experienced and prolific interior modder I know of so it's all good advice.

Cluttering your Interior

This, like many of our claims, is a mini-claim which means that you can use the existing vanilla layout or delete everything in there and start over. However, whichever method you choose, you will need to bear in mind the need to replace many of the vanilla items with our own BM objects (whichever are appropriate to the owner and the purpose of the building). For more information about mini-claims, read this: Interiors Strategy .

Please try to use the BM objects as much as possible. And try to consider the story behind the owner of the house (which you may adapt unless stated) and add clutter as appropriate to them and the particular locations. This might include foodstuffs, flora, cutlery, paintings, tribal items, custom furniture, bedding and maybe a desk if this interior involves using the NPC as a trader. There are now LOTS of cultural objects for Argonian dwellings including cupboards, rootchairs and so on but other races can use some of our own items too, especially race-neutral objects such as cutlery, ingredients and books. Please ask or check this thread to find out more: Clutter Advice .

Please remember to light the area. Imperial lighting should mainly be used in Gideon and we have few lighting options that are especially unique so please consider SI lights as well if they fit with the interior. If you have any further suggestions, requests for models and so on then please consult this thread: Furnitures & Clutters or this one: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=11447. Just ask if you have any special ideas for extra models.

Have fun! :goodjob:
