So this intrusion could be from an early period when the volcanic hotspot was located further south. Continental drift and all that.
Normally I'd totally agree, but geology is, I think, one of those areas where even the most interally consistent fantasy worlds really veer away from reality! If it was a normal volcano that would be perfectly plausible, but Red Mountain is a supernatural volcano, that was created when a murdered god's heart blew a giant hole in the world's crust. I dunno how you even begin to work out the geology of that kind of thing... :eek:
I didn't imagine an intrusion-style mountain there anyway. Although I'd agree it's an interesting landscape feature, I don't think the jungle that I have in mind would fit too well with it.

Fair enough then. I'd forgotten the origin of Red Mountain anyhow.
