Yes, the Gamebryo Engine includes "nifs", and Bethesda is mentioned as a user of this engine in the article.

I don't know how ( or if ) this sale might affect future TES games.

Your thoughts?

Hmm, interesting yes but I too am clueless about the implications...
It might finally mean the ES and Fallout games will be powered by a decent and capable engine.

That engine is rather old and riddled with bugs, I feel bad for the company that purchases it.

No,
TES5 will not be using UE3.
Betheda are making their own engine built at Bethesda.
Probably a heavily modified version of Gamebryo.
TES in UE3 would be pretty sweet. Their CS is more versatile than Beth's, but a lot harder to learn and use, too (imo, of course).
Really cause that was what I heard but oh well it is a dream I can only hope for
