Hi sorry to ruin the good mood and all but I just installed the steam version of oblivion it crashes i really need help please please help me out :eek:

Sorry had a double up there steam is a program that sells games online it is were you buy games like Gary's mod and such thats ok thanks for responding at least ill have to wait untipo christmas and ask for a another copy of oblivion sigh sigh sigh :bitching:

Is this the "direct2drive" version? If so then I think it's notoriously incompatible with modding in general. You do need the physical media version.

I use the Steam version of Oblivion and it works perfectly fine for me. Instead of using the BethesdaSoftworks/Oblivion/Data directory (or whatever it is) you just use Steam/Steamapps/common/Oblivion/Data and you can mod with it fine.


However, I can't help with the main issue of the crashing. Sorry.

yah I know that that works but I mean that when ever steam launches oblivion it goes into bethesda softworks...... but then every time it crashes

Have you tried removing all your mods?

actually what happened was i reinstalled and deleted the data folder before the reinstall the reinstall exe didnt work and so I bought it on steam which does not work X(
