Specific information - The meeting of two roads usually invites some sort of landmark. Certainly something needs to explain the lack of a direct shortcut from Orcrest to Dune - perhaps a small settlement? Obviously we would prefer some misdirection from the real explanation: "that's the way TOYB drew the map."
