Yes, and a mission to find rare things for the monastary, like the Nirnroot mission (only not as boring, long and unrewarding).

Yeah, something that player can at least use.
But it just sounds great to be sent to recover some uber artifact, bring it back to monestary which later on burns and you recover your long waited reward.

Alright, the first quest will be a "junrei" (pilgrimage) and the player gets his/her first title of the Sohei faction: Junreisha (pilgrim).
The list of titles for the Sohei faction will be:
Junreisha (pilgrim).
Nyudo (lay priest).
Sohei (warrior monk).
Sohei Ko-gashira (warrior monk lieutenant).
Sohei Kashira (warrior monk captain).
Sohei Taisho (warrior monk general).
Zasu (head abbot).
I will be looking for some more titles, so this list could change.
The pilgrimage quest will be simple (but could be dangerous), the player will travel to holy places all over Akavir.

I got an idea for one trial.
You are sent by your taskmaster to deliver sacred, blessed rice to a hermit living far away. When you arrive you realize that you have lost the rice along your travels, and the hermit refuses to speak to you. You have to return to your taskmaster who is enraged that you lost the blessed rice and tells you that as your punishment you must endure one hit from him. He draws his blade, and instead of killing you, he just puts it away. He explains that the rice was enchanted to disappear, and that by returning to him, and by being willing to take a hit for punishment, you have passed a test of loyalty. Another way to complete the quest would be to get a normal bowl of rice and give it to the hermit, which would result in a loss of disposition from the rest of the faction, and you will be forced to do another quest in its place.
