Zarf, those are GREAT. I would love to see the hole to see how that has come along too , I was hoping the shadow baking could bring out the bump things across it..
By the way, this is the first time I have changed my backround in months.

LOL
The 'bumps' (Ridges, Caligula. ) were VERY flat looking with regular maps. I think, for this model in particular, faked shadows are required.
I brought out the bumps myself (The skylight shadows didn't make them evident, so I had to employ some nifty Photoshop tricks which utilized your .gif framework extensively) and tested it out. It worked, but there are some visible seams that I need to fix before I go shipping stuff off.
SNEAK PEAK!!!

The don't think the houses should have a really dark texture like that.
- X23 - 05-31-2006

Me no need non' them foo fangled wordy words!! :dunce:
The hole looks great. :goodjob: Do you plan on adding any boarders like where the textures separate to cover up the seam?
- Siegfried - 05-31-2006
Looking good, but textures need to be lightened like Axen and X23 said.
- Zarf - 05-31-2006
I wasn't planning on adding borders, but that would be a really great way to fix the seam issue.
I've finished adding borders to the bottom, now to add borders to the top and around the 'stove pipe hole'.
And I agee, the textures need to be WAY brighter. ![Big Grin Big Grin](https://www.silgradmodding.net/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.png)
EDIT: Here's the borders.

I have to leave on short notice, so don't expect brighter textures or fixed shadow details on the border tiles tonight.

Looking good.
It is possible to bake shadows with multiple lights at once right? I was thinking that a more interesting way to brighten things up rather than, well, cranking up the brightness or something would be to add a second (rather dim) light shining directly on the back shadows. It would brighten up the whole back side a bit, while at the same time keeping the shadows along the back from being pitch black.

Yeee Goddds. How did I miss these screenies?
That coooool white stone is the marble, true.
When I worked with Sothebys and Crristies I handled tons and tons of the stuff and not anly is your texture just wonderful, it perfectly complements the rough feel of the hard 'sandstone' that is the basic Redoran building material.
Not only Redoran architects can learn a bit from you guys, I would think that there are some RL designers that will benefit from your inspiration.
