Thanks man, will try it out soon and let you know how it went! :goodjob:

Does the new version of your plugin change the default place of the Blinn Basic Parameters rollout? Because it used to be near the top, but now it's near the bottom. I know I can move it, but it happens on every scene I open.

:O Uhhmm, no it doesn't do anything even remotely related...
Can you confirm that uninstalling it removes this effect?

Thanks for the update, sorry I am such a useless tester, so far I haven't run into any problems at all. It does exactly what it says on the side of the tin so to speak.

gundalf: I know, strange isn't it? Plus the DirectX Manager rollout is rolled out by default on any empty material I click in the material editor. It happened after I installed the newest version; I haven't made any other changes to my copy of the program that I'm aware of.

Hmm doesn't happen here. I guess you made a change you aren't aware of. Does uninstalling the plugin do anything (except not being able to export )?

I tried closing max, moving your two files out of the folder and then starting up max again, but the layout changes in the material editor remained the same. Very puzzling. I can't discount that it's something I did on my end. Perhaps feedback from others can yield an answer. It's true that I've used the Reset function a lot lately, and theoretically that could be it but I've used it before sometimes and it hasn't affected the default layout in the material editor. Oh well.
I was wondering, is there any possibility you might add support for two-sided textures? Because it's very handy for saving polys I think. I got to thinking about it when I couldn't figure out why the leather on the re-exported awnings suddenly became invisible from the other side. It was easy to fix them though and it'll be just as easy for me to fix them back again later in case you think support for doublesided textures could be something you'd want to include.

Good idea razorwing, the nif files use nistencilproperty to make things double sided or something done they? so its probably more efficient than making things double sided in max?
Also, is there a reason not all the material types are in the list gundalf? I was looking to see if its possible to create textures that would make water sounds when walked on, particularly shallow water sounds. it seems possible in the CS to make textures use materials of "Water" and "water stairs" is this not possible for models?

Might want to ask them on there forum.
To continue this discussion I would like to ask a few more questions, I hope to get this mesh out the door asap
Ok so before exporting the mesh, I would need to select NifProps under the utilities panel, then check Is Collision Mesh in the object rollout, Material cloth and layer Static under the havoc rollout?
Then when I export I check Generate Strips, Export Collision, Vertex Colors, Remap Indices. Now for the Texture Prefix do I point to a folder? Like this I don?t quite understand what this is:
textures\clothes\wings
I have my wings folder containing the textures in the clothes folder.
