Yeah I get crashes also when exporting with the Civ4 tool, that's why I'm glad for this new *.nif utility =)

Why is the new version labeled as "0.12" ? On page two of this thread there is a version "0.13". Am I misunderstanding something ?

Thats because I increased the version number twice. We decided to use continuous numbers on the official relases... It's the same version.

Yeah I can export it, but have you then opened it in NifSkope and looked at the bones and stuff? If you didn't export the hidden ones there are simply no bones and the mesh doesn't work in-game, and if you do export hidden then the bones show up when they shouldn't. Also, things seem a little off to me, like instead of having NiTriStrips there are NiNodes with the NiTriStrips in or whatever. NiNodes of the root node I mean.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great utility and I'm more than thankful for it, but at the moment I can't seem to get any clothing/armor into the game with it.

That's easily explained by the fact that bones aren't supported yet. The file structure is okay, at least for the export without bones. If you look at beth's meshes you will fine the "root_node->node->tristrips" hierarchy quiet often...
EDIT: file structure is good in the export with bones, too.

Haha okay, so I have to uninstall it every time I want to use the Civ4 plugin for any rigged stuff, and then install it again when I need your exporter. ahh well, still great I guess.

Can't do anything about it...
EDIT: But you could try to install 2 copies of Max...

No, that's not supported yet.

I think I have a problem.
Right-most model:
I wanted to set up collision on this tileset piece, but the collision mesh comes out with all these strange lines in the middle, making it impossible to walk in that tile (or at least it looks that way).
Middle model:
Then I tried cutting up the collision mesh into different pieces, but I only got one of them to export. That was a pity, I thought, becase I would have liked being able to use different materials on different pieces too, and I think it just might have solved the problem with lines in the middle too, had it worked.
Left model:
Lastly I tried fusing the collision mesh without welding the vertices but that didn't seem to work either as the lines came back.
What do you make of it, gundalf?
