Woah, I like! - Kielanai - 08-30-2007 Did you figure out how to make them float, or are they stationary? Those look very pretty. Nice for summer festivals and such. - ra5946 - 08-30-2007 I guess I don't know which uniform you are speaking of, could you point it out, sorry. Thanks Yes, the lanterns float. Trees- The brazil nut and bamboo are brand new, but the cherry is a retexture of the dogwood. I started from scratch on the bamboo and scanned a small sprig from one I cut from my real bamboo. haha The brazil nut texture actually has brazil nuts, but it's so tall you can't see them from the ground. I suppose we'll need brazil nuts as an ingredient huh? Bamboo Brazil Nut Cherry - Kodama - 08-30-2007 Awesome models! :goodjob: And yes, the Brazil nut needs an an ingredient, btw, we will have to change the name of the Brazil nut tree (and the ingredient) to it's other name: "Paranut tree" and "Paranut" for the ingredient (because Brazil is a long way from Nirn) It would be nice if we had another cool Tang Mo monkey tree, like the Baobab tree. :alert: Here is a picture with the gold mon :alert: - ra5946 - 08-31-2007 Okay updated the mon I fiinally finished the bamboo huts. You also notice the new baobab trees in there as well. - Kodama - 08-31-2007 Ahw man! The huts look awesome! Very well made :goodjob: Now the Tang mo finally have a cool place to live It looks like you did'nt waste any time on making the Baobab tree, it looks great! (in more then one way) I'm gonna see if i can find some more cool jungle trees for our mod, if anyone has a suggestion for a speedtree, please post it Woah, suge~! - Kielanai - 08-31-2007 I am drooling over the bamboo. LoL! Is that one available to Kojima, or rather save it for the game? By the way, I think what I will do with the team models is try to open the back side of the island and add some stuff there. Sacryn has pmed me with offer to merge with his borders mod, and has give me information how to open the borders beyond what the game has set. I had mostly finished everything else, but I think the back area of the island where there is nothing else would be a good place to advertise for the project. I can add a little blurb in my read-me with the url to these forums, if you like? Everything looks great, btw! ^_^ I can't think of anything more in trees at the moment. - Kodama - 08-31-2007 You can use all of our speedtrees if you want, as long as Ra is also ok with that, i would like the trees to be used as a modders resource as long as credit is given to Ra. And please add a little blurb in your read-me for us =) - Tlo1048 - 08-31-2007 Wow, thats a really good looking lantern. I can just see a river filled with these, and I'm in my boat sliding through the water. The trees look fantastic! :goodjob: They'd look great next to a home, and having a bamboo forest. Your garden is beautiful, and I agree with Kodama, the water looks inviting. - Kodama - 08-31-2007 I have found a very rare species of mangrove :] They don't have the branch like roots the other mangroves have, so maybe this will solve our problem with the roots =) Here is a picture of the "Tea Mangrove" :alert: You can see more pictures of how they look here: LINK - Pelliciera rhizophorae I hope this mangrove tree is possible, i think i have seen trees in-game with similar roots in the South-East marshes. - ra5946 - 08-31-2007 Glad you guys like all the models. Thanks a few side notes- Lanterns- because they have a working flame (animated texture), several can slow down performance. I can make a version without the flame (the lantern will still glow) if you guys feel it neccessary. Placing several of them and making them actual lights can also hurt FPS, so if your pc is hurting, make them items or something. Trees- the average Oblivion tree seems to be around 4000 polys. My bamboo is around 5000 (I think) so bamboo forests are good to go. My weeping is around 20,000 so only use those for certain spots. The baobab is around 12,000 so use those sparringly as well. The cherry is just a retexture so it's low. A little fact about the Oblivion dogwood tree- It's great for retexturing. It contains both leaves and a flower. The flower can be retextured to be a fruit or whatever. Do we need fruit trees, persimmons, plums? Also, do we need flowers? Are there lotus blossoms already in the game? Kodama- speedtree is very cool but it has it's limitations. It makes a tree trunk like a cone. The mangrove kinda has an upside 'funnel' shape. It wouldn't look as cool as your pics. I'll do the best I can and post the pics to see if we wanna use them or not. I can make a nice looking tree in 3dmax, but it won't blow in the wind. Thoughts? Kielanai- you of course can have any of these trees. Which ones would you like? Also don't worry about crediting me, just credit Akavir mod. Tlo1048- Would you like those huts now? I haven't done any interiors and that will probably be a long way down the road. I just used Bruma shacks for the models so you could probably retexture the interiors to match my models if you're in a hurry. Okay- The way I work is: I like to have 3 or 4 models going at once so I don't get bored of one thing. I'm gonna continue work on my warehouses (kura) and start doing outdoor lanterns. I'll also do plants here and there as well. What would you consider priority in the below list? 1. Boats/ships 2. The mining resources (iron, steel etc) 3. Japanese houses/castles 4. Decorations (windchimes, rain chains) 5. Furniture 6. Weapons I can make armor, clothes and creature models, but if we don't have anyone to rig them, it's kind of a wate of time. It sucks because I already have dozens of models that need to be rigged |
