Yeah, I think we need that as well.
Currently my huts have stairs that lead to the ground. How do we want to get from the water level to the huts above? Just have the stairs lead into the water then have some small dock for boats and such?
Almost done with the banana tree. Modeling trees is much more a pain in the arse than I thought it would be, thank god speedtree can handle most trees. Speaking of trees, does anyone know if there is a static mesh of a tree in Oblivion? I could use this as the tree for the tree huts instead of having to model a new tree.
Kodama- Could you provide a list of trees that you want- (speedtree and static) and also any resource that may go with it.
So far I know you want-
Mangrove trees (not speedtree friendly)
Spruce tree- should be easy, I'll make a snow version as well
Trees I think that should be in since we already have the fruit-
Orange Tree
Apple Tree
Is it possible to attach a script to a speedtree to use it as a "container" to get fruit from the tree?
Also when you make a tree in a speedtree it has a 'randomize' button that produces a different seed number for the tree each time you click it. I usually go through about a hundred for each tree and find the 5-8 best looking trees and save the seed number. That seed number can be used in the CS to produce that same tree. Pretty cool. So when you make a forest with the trees with different seed numbers, it randomizes the trees. I usually make sure one of those seeds is a younger looking version.

You could always make a fruit bearing tree a very large harvestable plant. No animation/swaying though.

I think we should have wooden bridges, or docks connecting the huts like roads, the stairs could then be removed from the huts, and it would be great if the stairs could be placed however we see fit, so we can fit them to the docks to make them connect with land or water.
But do make sure you keep the original huts with the stairs aswell, they will still be usefull for jungle villages.
We could have pear trees aswell, the game does have pears, right?
So some trees will just have to be normal models, i think that's perfectly ok with the Mangrove tree.
I have no idea about the containers, but i like Spoonifico's idea, but if we can get a script, that would be better for the trees.
And we need a Hemp plant
If some one has a good idea for plants or trees, please post it.
I will think about some more trees.
