Here are some updates and requests for Blacklight.
I've been working on the new version, starting on the Docks section of
the city and fixing the waterfront by smoothing and raising land and
water areas. The docks are going to be large like the Morrowind version
but more spread out, sticking closer to the shore with more than one
main pier heading out. I'm going to try and stick with the canal idea
for the city.
On the landmass, I'm going to be strict with the old map which means
more mountains and movement of present roads from the old Morrowind map.
On the request front:
1. Retextured armor for the guards and knights. I would like to use the
same armor as the guards in the Imperial City but would like it to be
darker, even black if possible, possible even the etchings on the
knights armor (which is the Imperial Commanders armor) possibly even a
Blacklight color.
2. Signs. Redone signs for the taverns, stores and so forth.
3. (This one is a maybe) The Morrowind Blacklight had the Daedric store
walkways, I was wondering if anyone could retexture a cobblestone
texture to that same color.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been a little too busy with RL work
(insurance work) but have gotten a little work done on the Blacklight
area. Also I've begun exploring the work in ST with Oblivion (when you
can visit the area with no crashes you know a good job is being done).

I think the best way to get model / texture requests completed is to post them in the 'open jobs for modellers' / 'open jobs for texturers'
threads on the Visual Development board. The more specific and detailed
the request is, the more likely it is to get picked up. You should post
it both as a reply to the thread (to bump it) and add it to the list in
the initial post of the thread.

An update.
I've raised land up to the Skyrim border at (-74, 31) and begun to move
back eastward. Also began to work on the city at (-38,33) (in the
Docks) and wilderness cells around (-45,31). I'll keep you updated with
more screens soon.

Another update.
Been raising land in the far west, getting to the NW border at (-78,40)
and moving back eastward. Some work done on cell (-71,42) for ideas on
how western area will look (towards the Skyrim border will be
practically ice and snow). Will have a screenshot of the cell later
today.

Some more to report.
Been working on the southern wall at (-38, 30) & (-37,30) and
adding buildings to the area at (-38,30). Also opened land for a small
eastern seacoast (no docks to be placed there, more of a beachfront).
Began starting a canal around the docks area, deciding which would look
best as the sides of the canal (so far, the ST Imperial foundation
statics look best, makes it a little more of the Arena: Blacklight).

5/22 update:
More work on the heightmap. Lake Cormaris now has a southern border
with a stream heading down to cell (-47, 23). Also the landmass now has
a rough eastern coast all the way down to (-40, 18) with all land
raised westward to (-49, 18) (Northern border is about cell (-49, 29).
With the cells around Cormaris View almost raised, work can also begin
there.

5/24 update
Not going to have much time today (have to take courses today in
insurance (snore)). Began smoothing out parts of the eastern coast and
finding which ST trees work best with the landscape. A lot of land
raising going all the way west to (-66, 18) and north to (-66, 29) to
the North. Probably in a few days the borders should be set and
exterior claiming can begin.

6/1 update
Still plotting out the southern end of Lake Cormaris but finally
decided on landscape textures for that area. So I'll be working on cell
(-48, 24) and start building the forest there. Have to take online
classes this weekend so I won't be doing much work (have to renew my
insurance license).

6/15 update
Sorry for the lack of updates, there have been two priorities lately
that have kept me offline, my insurance license and my programming. The
license is up for renewal and I have to take courses which take hours
on end. I still have 31 credits to get and will be taking 6 this
weekend. I've also been brushing up on my programming skills as well by
improving my PHP skills and beginning to learn Oracle 10g.
But there has been work going on for Blacklight otherwise. Here is the update:
- Finished land raising for the NW area and using the Height editor
(I've been getting used to it) to raise a mountian range for the border
areas.
- Working on the mountains NW of Blacklight and beginning to texture those areas.
- Beginning a forest test using cell (-52, 24) and working around there.
- Still working on the south area of Lake Cormaris.
You probably won't see me too often the next few weeks but I'll keep posting on updates.

Got a little time so here goes:
- Northern Coast has been raised, the last cells to be raised is in the SW and Southern border
- Working on cell (-50, 41) with working on shorelines and the ocean floor

6/24 update
- Lake Cormaris borders are complete. Still have to smooth out the lake borders.
- Cormaris View wall begun.
- Lots of landscaping, texturing and land smoothing done around 15
cells at (-50, 41). Also work on seabed in the bay and around the two
pennisulas.
More to come!
Took 5 credits this weekend so 26 to go to renew my license.

6/25 update
- More work on sea cells in the bay area around (-50,41), more texturing and smoothing of cell areas.
- Continuing work on Cormaris View outer wall. Also some work done on fishing village slightly east of the village.
Another 4 credits done today, only 22 to go.

7/5 update
Been working on cells (-54, 39) - (-53, 38) with some work on (-52, 39)
A new mine is being added at (-52, 39) so it will be up for claiming when the next alpha is released.
Also working on the river north of Lake Cormaris reaching the beginning of the lake at (-57, 38).
More land smoothing in areas, still lots of work there to do but the coastline and sea cells to be worked as well.
I'll try to get some screens soon, the newly landscaped areas are looking really nice.

Well, as soon as the main computer is up and reconnected to the net
I'll release alpha .2 (after updating the new card and software). I
think afterwards I'll start putting an exterior claims map with
descriptions of what areas should have.
