I really have no idea right now. I havn't had a whole lot of time to
work on. I'm gonna have to print out all the history posts and try to
piece everything together before any of it makes sense. But until then
I don't know. I'll get back to you. |

I do not believe it is lore based.
Steinaech would probably know more about where the idea came from than anyone.
Enjoy

I know we have talked briefly on the time ine of the Kedal Peoples
origin has anything been decided on that, If we want to go with the
Chimer arrival into Morrowind as thier begining time or we thinking
sometime different ?
Enjoy

Sounds Good
So then we need to write a history on them based off of that timeline
and fit them best we can into the lore (the all is not known aspect)
this gives an advantage.
I think the Idea Raggidman has to incorporate them as part of the Cerro Vampires might be good with some tweaking.
*******************
What we had discussed was that these Chimer had broken off from the
main group following Veloth into Morrowind, they settled in the Velothi
Mountains, somewheres around where the Ancient Gate is now located.
During thier short stay, they were attacked by Vampires (the Imperial type)
though many died they endured these attacks for several days, they
devised a plan to find aid, and split into 2 groups, the thought was
that if the Vampires attacked again, one group or the other would
sacrifice themselves so the other could get away....
However, on the next eve they were again attacked not completely ready
to incorporate their plan, the attack was brutal, the Chimer were
disoriented and disorganized, some that survived took to the north and
some to the south, each thinking the others were killed. The group
going north found refuge in a small cavern. The group which took to the
south lost their attackers in the thick forrest and eventually made
home their near a lake.
As time passed, the Northern group (the Kedal) had time to explore the
cavern, they discovered the beginnings of Dwemer Archetecture and
several dead Dwemer, as they journeyed deeper into the caverns they
soon discovered the reason for the incomplete Construction and the dead
dwemer, but it was allready too late.
******************************
How is that so far?
Enjoy

Not really a lore guy myself, but I get the general notion of most of
it. It sounds pretty good so far, what happened to the ones who went
south? (probably a stupid question)

Think you might read this again Bob: The Chimer and the - it is in Lit Dev.
The basics are solid and it incorporates most of what has been discussed and considered.
Staenaech I understand that you read it and at the time you seemed to
think that it would fit - guess we're wondering where you are at now,
and how you want to proceed.

Again ?
I don't think I ever read it at all
Ok so axe my idea, now that I've read it were good
TID
The ones that went to the south were contaminated and became the Cerro Vampires.
But as above though in some case it still applies, remove my story and add Raggidmans

That all sounds pretty well thought out. I assume that all the
sruvivors still became Dunmer though, right? That'd be a pretty bad
lore rape if they didn't when Azura changed all the others

Yes they were all under Azura's Curse just the Kedal I suppose since
they were in lockdown in the cavern probably would not have known

The idea is that the Chimer were a migrating people.
The former Chimermer who found the Caverns that became Kedal did so a
looong time before the events at Red Mountain, before the Great Houses,
etc ... And they became a separate people, trapped as they were in
their underground city, they ceased to have any connection with the
Chimer, and they had already changed physically and o were unaffected
by Azura's Curse = hopefully no Lore Rape? Wajja think? Is possible?

Hmmm
This is quite possible, the curse of Azura was against the Chimer,
however these that seperated from Veloth to become the Kedal, had never
known of the events which took place at Red Mountain. So its possible
that she may have excluded them from the curse
However, likewise the Dwemer were (killed, displaced or otherwise
removed) from Nirn for the mockery of the gods, but the Clan Rourken
had seperated from the rest of the Dwemer and were not involved in the
Red Mountain incident, yet the too were (killed, displaced or
otherwise) removed
So I suppose It could be possible
Enjoy

It probably doesn't really matter whether they're technically Dumner or
Chimer, as they're not going to look like either...more like hideous
albino mole-people from some 50s B-movie
The way around it would probably be to not make direct reference to
their exact race...say they were Chimer at the time they got stuck down
there, but don't go into detail about whether they changed with
everyone else or not I suppose

Ahhh! The mess is getting worse >.<
You guys have to remember the Guardians of Kedal, the Hall of Ancients,
the attackers that were let loose from the Dark Oasis and all of that
too, becuase the Kedalins are under a curse placed by the King of the
Dark Oasis. |
