K, good to hear you are nterested in that.
Well bob has come up with some dates on Soluthis (link in my last post
- and some great deep history of earlier ES ages in that thread too)
and we think they can fit with the story. Assuming that Old Soluthis
was founded by the Redoran, that might be about 800 to 900 yrs ago. =
we have 100 to 150 yrs to play about with.
So I will start on the second part of the first story or another story about :
- how a way was opened / found to the outside world
- the reason for the Hall of the Ancients and how it came to be (- will use your input + more would be useful there -
- if you want, also the finding of the Dark Oasis (you might provide something more on the nature of that too)
- and I would not want you to lose Joe Venice's inspiring writing either.

Thinking to add that a group of Kwama dug into the soft soil at the
side of the rockslide some years / decades / centuries later, and a
huge Kwama mine grew in that place ... = so the tunnelers from inside
exit decades later in the Kwama mine.
Now that is not the sort of location where you would expect to find the entrance to a 'secret city'
The new exit tunnel was through a rocky formation that cracked due to
the landslide - and a long way away from the previous entry - the
actual entry was covered with a huge slab of granite that is on a
perfectly balanced pivot - easy if you know the catch.
Maybe the Ancientest Cerro was following rumours about the bandits and
stuff, investigated the mine, and say saw a Kwama forrager squeeze
through a gap at the corner of the slab with something unusual in it's
jaws... ?

Howdy
I'd like to interject a possibility
I have been in Discussion with "The Black Knight" who modded for TES3
some time ago, their is an ESP called G'Aedra that was TBK's project,
very large, very elaborate, the project was never finished but I have
the files (interiors) and have been in contact with TBK recently, it
seems to me from the concept idea, this project is similar in a lot of
respects to Kedal
I would propose that after further discussion with TBK and your
approval we can construct this Project using some of the existing files
The interiors are such that they would fit well with an underground
society, a society which has been cut off from the outside world and
has had to adapt and sustain themselves for many years
I think it will work nicely and it will give a jump on design of some of the cave systems
But this is your call
Will advise as information becomes available
Enjoy
Bob

What I am saying is this project "GAedra" is similar to what your Kedal
Project is, with respect to a society of people that have been cut off
from the outside world and have been under a "sort of curse"
G'Aedra was basically the same
G'Aedra was a project for TES3 that was being developed by "The Black Knight"
It was not finished, but I have the files
I am proposing to you, that once we are ready to begin building the
interiors, if we can use some of the interiors made for G'Aedra they
would probably fit into your ideas nicely (maybe)
Enjoy
Bob

Possibly
At least as far as the layout of the interiors
something to consider, its seems we may start that project again
so we shall see I can send you some SS for you to consider
Enjoy

It would be neat to see a sort of "creation myth" of what happened. a
true story of how Kedal came to be but slightly obscured by the sands
of time, puzzling metaphors and symbols and some creative exaturations.
this is just me, but throughout history groups of people have always
developed such "creation myths". from romans to mayans to aborigenies
even history like the creation of america. I was always fascinated by
how my elementory school classes in american history made figures like
George Washington into these almost greek-like epic heros, forging
rivers and winning battles.
anyway, since everybody else is doing it...
also, on a completely seperate note
I like the idea of farming mushrooms for food. everybody needs to eat
and it would make sence for these people to cultivate one of the few
foodsources in such caves.
don't know if this has been touched on, I just saw those screenshots
and liked the idea. who knows what strange mushooms could be cultivated
in such deep darkness?

If I remember correctly their is also a bug farm which is used as a food source.
A creation myth ?
I was under the assuption that the Kedal were Mer. If so then the
creation myth would not change from all the myths about the creation of
any of the other races
How they became Kedal thats the history or if we want to really get
crazy, since they have been secluded for so long maybe the elders have
written their own history and myths about their creation
Possibly the curse which is on them has mutated their minds and
dis-connected them from their ancestry or perhaps they just forgot over
time
Either way when Man or Mer first appears to them he/she will seem alien
Enjoy

Hello everybody!
Since Bob already told you a bit about my old Moloch of a mod, I don't have to say much about that.
It's almost a bit scary to see how parallel your ideas and mine are.
Why don't you just get yourselves the TES3 mods and take a little
sightseeing tour underground? Bob's screenshots from the CS just don't
give the right impression.
And because the concepts are so similar, it only seems logical to work
together. I might even break my solemn oath not to do a single thing
for Oblivion and build a maze for you, wich changes its layout while
you walk through. With a little scripting magic I made such a maze for
the old mod.

I wanted to do something sorta similar to that with the Dark Oasis. I
wanted evertime you go into it, it looks different every time. Or maybe
create about 10 or so different versions and it just randomly teleports
you to 1 of the 10 versions. |

I did not use teleportation as the players would notice the transition.
Instead I made several sets of corridors with scripts. Actually there
are several mazes at the same place, but only one set is shown at each
time, the others are disabled. There are some static segments where the
change is triggered. There it is ensured that the player does not see
it happen. Mapping or tracing back your steps in there can be quite
unnerving

I had an idea for Kedal (or is it something already discussed? Either
way, it came to mind...) : perhaps they could be adept potion makers?
Alchemists? Strong Kedal medecine for example?
