Its on the obse WISHLIST Bash
ChangeRace [race ID] - to allow transformations. Would be nice for anything from magickal disguises to becoming a Lich.

That function there is mainly used as a condition, but I'm pretty sure you could use it for changing the PCs race. And I wasn't refering to OBSE, I hate the thing Wink

Wel lthats just get, unfortunatly it isn't that easy to get a persons race as it is to set it, get just looks at a variable, changing the variable would have no effect at all thats why there aint no setpcrace.

I just happend to have seen the obse wishlist and I thought you might have seen it aswell and couldn't remember correctly where that thought came from,
I'm not a big fan of obse myself either, id prefer it if beth made a patch for the cs :D would be a lot easier then how obse is trying to do it.

Even if beth made a path for the CS, the game engine would not reconise it. They need to update all of the oblvion files, like they did with Tribunal and BM for MW.

The whole reason I suggested turning the player into a creature (like the werecroc or polymorph mod do) is because the race can not be changed.
There is no way to change the sounds for the player, he has to be transformed into a new race or a creature.
Using OBSE for this might solve a lot of problems (like the current one), and also creatures cause a lot less stress to the frame rate than NPCs, that is always a plus.

With creatures it causes more problems than it creates.

Back On Topic: I don't see why it's not possible to just swap the PC with another Npc, not change the race just swaping the actor.

It would also work even better then other routes because you could track more than one death.

Swapping the pc with a actor? How? Its not like you can remove the player and just place a npc in the players position, something like that could be done but then the player doesnt have control over the actor, so werewolves wont be able to do anything.

Edit: O and I already made a track kills script so no worrys about it.

Hmm there seems to be a way to change the sounds the player makes, or it should be doable they didn't completly figure it out yet. Linky:

Edit: Hmm I've kindda lost track of what everything in my scripts means :D I forgot to document the thingys, its so chaotic it takes me too long to figure out what is what, I think ill rewrite most of the script so I have a clue of whats going on.

It is not true that sounds cannot be changed. If you would like to know how, you can check out my werewolf mod, or I could go into detail. You just have to edit the combat dialogue.

I am currently rewriting most of the script, fixing bugs in the progress, this version is way cleaner then the last one was so I can actually see what I am doing, most basic systems are rewritten already, I still got to do a little bugfixing, everything that has anything to do with ai *ouch* and the sounds.

I have no clue, I thought I was very close to one a long time ago but then I kept finding more bugs, the ai system is probably by far the hardest to do and I havent started rewriting that yet..

I am currently busy with a bug where if you force transformation before midnight (20.00 pm for example) and then you wait 24 hours you will not transform back untill you reach midnight, but I'm working on it.

Edit: Its a pretty simple one since I've fixed it already

Edit2: Roflol just had the funiest error message ever :lmao: : Max script line lenght (512 characters) exceeded
This is the line its talking about :

Do we have someone whos good at ai? or atleast dialogue? I havent worked with them before and I feel the rest of werewolves (besides sound and animations) is kinnda finished.

My rewriting somehow managed to cut my code in half Confused I wonder what happend to the other half of the code.. Confused

Maybe you've missed out another component that affects if they flee or not.

Yeh I've got a new video card :D it actually looks nice now and I dont need oldblivion anymore so my computer wont crash anymore when closing OB, itll cut my testing times in half :D

I havent doen much testing yet so I might be able to figure it out myself Yes I use forums as a last resource, I use em almost every day already.... :lmao:

WEll I wont be implementing the full ai yet (no keeping identity secret yet), so I think only sounds and some testing to filter out any major bugs that will make beta testing impossible, ill prolly start scripting/testing again tomorrow so I expect within a week (if sulan finishes the sounds within 1 week)

Yeh, he said something about inspiration from daggerfall, anyways he's still working on his music so you shouldnt count upon aving it finished in one week.

I don't know, when Sulan wants to he can get things finished pretty fast. Also the sounds don't need to be that long.
