the heightmap is looking good, Lord Skorm! although the purple, black, and yellow lines dont look pretty on the screenshots, I know that those are just LODs being buggy. oh and just to let yall know, the Summerset Isles forum is stall alive! at this link:

I'm still working on the heightmap.. and I'm almost done with the mountain region of Summerset.
Although, I can't get them to look eroded and have lots of peaks because I barely have any room to locate them.. so the way up to Cloudrest and to the Crystal Tower is very navigatable... too simple..

Here are some pics of two models that we have for the Summerset Isle. These were created by Ammon, and they aren't done, so these are just "templates". We also need a texture artist to make some textures for the Crystal Tower and Firsthold Orrery.

The tower looks interesting, could use more detail, but it looks good.

The orrery is far too simple in my oppinion.

Ammon is still working on the models, and several others.
And I do agree that the orrery needs more features to spruce it up a bit.. but we're getting there.

the orrery is definatly too simple. the basic shape of it looks good... but it needs to look much more like a building. an ancient elven building at that. the tower... well, I think you took the word crystal a bit too literarly Tongue I personaly would have prefered making it more crystaline in structure instead of tacking on crystaly blade things to a basic tower. but thats just me maybe.

No, it's not just you.
I would also prefer to see a more crystaline tower, instead of a tower with odd looking crystal blades fixed to it.
But I do like the top of the tower.

That tower looks a lot like a freeware model called "ice tower" (or something to that affect) I contemplated using in ST as a daedric building. I ultimately didn't because it would have been a pain to texture map and the maker of it hadn't created it in such a way that it could be texturemapped easily.

Noted about the orrery - a revolutionary system is needed so that the 'moons' could revolve around the Nirn.

Suggest that it might be a 'magical construct' - lines of light in the air as one option ... just so there is no 'star wars' look to it like some of the weapons that I have seen in some mods ... Wink

Your forum was an invisionfree forum right? If so you should be able to request that they restore it. It says in their FAQ that they perform regular backups. They will probably be able to tell you why it went down as well.

I honestly don't see why Vality7 would just delete your forums purely out of maliciousness.

Yeah not sure if he would do that. I did notice from the past though he did delete the Thras board after they no longer wished to use it.

but I draw no conclusions just looking at previous examples...

My own IF forum tends to go offline every now and then, for no reason so I do not think Vality had anything to do with it.

I've been mulling over how to approach this thread for awhile. Should it stay an open discussion here in the Common Room since in part it deals with restarting the Summerset Isle project in Beyond Cyrodiil? Or moved to General ES Modding since the discussion long since turned away from the project being a part of Beyond Cyrodiil? Or locked and archived because it's a mix of both, being neither black nor white.

Finally I decided on the latter. If you wish to continue discussing the Summerset Isle project on this forum feel free to start a thread on General ES Modding, but unless it has to do with Beyond Cyrodiil the discussion doesn't belong on this particular board.
