It's finally here! (the flow chart).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Concept of Sir Francis Dugal
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: The Necromancers Questline was written by MarshallR, and the
Pirate Questline was Written by me (TOYB), the KOTC one needs a mjor
overhaul, due to how it progreses strait to the KOTC (it needs to go
through the O.O.A. first), and also various things have changed since
it written. It will most likely be revised by MarshallR or me/TOYB
later on.
Once we get full/better forums each quest in the questlines will be put
up as idea threads and handed out as claims, then they will be fleshed
out by individuals keeping the main focus in mind, and done under the
supervision of MarshallR and I/TOYB. However for the moment concepts
would be great, and it would be great to have atleast 1-2 concepts for
each quest, before planning begins (so the writer can draw
inspiration), obviously though concept art cannot be done yet for the
KOTC quests, however feel free to do some generally about the KOTC.
On another note, if people spot the two influences I drew from to
create the character "Sir Francis Dugal" I will give his full
description and history (*hint* one has something to do with the Golden
Hinde, and unrelated to the world of ES, the other one does have
something to do with the world of ES *hint*).
Cheers,
TOYB

Just a few things I noticed that I may or may not have mentioned
before. In the necromancer questline, there are about 30 things you can
do. Not just dialouge and plotline shifts, but actual quests. In the
pirate one there is about 10. Also, the killing of Kvakis is very
rushed. You just kill him on your way out. Doesn't sit right with me.
Same with the part you added on with the necromancer questline, when
you can kill the pirate leader. I meant for the player to choose to
join with the pirate and kill Kvakis, or kill the pirate and stay with
Kvakis.
The Golden Hind was captained by Sir Francis Drake. I knew that without even looking at wikipedia.
Dugal I beleive was the name of that pirate in that pirate cove expansion. |
Make your edits then and post what you changed (along with the flow
chart itself), because I can't be bothered atm (I just fixed stuff with
it).
And good on you for knowing who he was
and so I will give you his backstory:
Sir Francis bears no direct decendance to that of the infamous Captain
(Torradan) Dugal, of 3E 286; however he is of the same family who share
the last name Dugal (ap Dugal, meaning "son of Dugal"), whom are mainly
from the Northern Coasts of Skyrim (specifically in the Hold of
Northshore).
Sir Francis was born to an Imperial noble-woman, and a Cheiftan's Son
(from the town of Dunbarrow), in the city of Dawnstar. He is raised
with imperial values, and because of this is Loyal to the empire.
On his sevententh birthday, he is admitted into the Imperial legion,
where he trains under Rielus Praxedes (A Seneschal in the Imperial
Knights), eventually becomming a Knight of the Imperial Order of
Knights. He then transfers out of them (leaving at the Rank of Knight
Brother), to the Imperial Navy straight to Lieutenant Commander.
Over the years in his position, he travels around the Abcean sea, still
stuck in the same rank. He eventually bores of the position, and
decides to get ahead by murdering his Admiral, however it back fires
when they find out it was him, and so he jumps ship in Rihad, where he
lays low for several years, living off the large amount of money he had
stolen from Imperial coffers while in service. With the last of his
remaining money, he brought a ship and recruited a crew.
Currently he plunders merchant ships in the Abcean sea, and uses the
back wash settlement in the Sestres as a base of operations, as the
imperials can't root him out there without a serious problem with the
Sloads.

Well, I don't seem to require that anymore, as I've redone the pirate questline already. Yay!
I've tried to keep to the original as much as I could, but I took away
some things, like the ending split/ending, and added a bunch
(obviously). Take a look:

I think I'm going to some work on it, because IMO it lost some it's
"uniqueness" when you editted it, and it became to wrapped up with
Necromancy (I actually quite feel sick reading it now, but I know you
did what you thought was best but I can't help how I feel about it).
Edit: also I might point out that you have put quests on multiple
(sometimes three) blocks, so an actual fact is that you've only
slightly made it bigger

I understand. This is one of the reasons why group writing is such an
awful idea, everyone wants what they have done to make it in, and
everyone has a different opinion about the piece of writing. The
creator of Dilbert wrote a sizeable portion about it in one of his
books, and many comic strips.
But I would probably feel the same way if you had edited the
necromancer questline as much as I edited the pirate one. Please
understand that in some cases, I mearly summarized what you had, and
intended for it to be the same.
Also, I don't know what you mean by just lengthening the quest
stages, while I did add more stages because the font I was using doesn't
fit, it's still about about 12 actual quests larger. But it does need a
few more.
EDIT: Actually, after rereading yours and mine, they aren't that
different. It's basically just the ending that really got changed.
Reread it with a clearer head.

They are, your just missing the points that I had intended to be more important, and cut them from your version.
I am going to redo it anyway, so it's not that productive us talking
about the edit, you could redo the KOTC one though (I didn't really
like what I had done to begin with).
