Screams in the Silent-Caves of Coral ? By The Old Ye Bard

By Anonymous

He screamed at the girl, purging the flesh from her bones, bleaching them as he did, and at the same time turning them to dust.

This would happen every day. Another slave would be sent in. Another slave would be sent to their death.

He did not want this, he had never chosen this life, half of the time he wished it were himself being destroyed by his own Thu?um. For you see, he himself was a slave; he was forever bound to kill the weak and defenceless, and be shackled to his prison of Iron and steal. He had no choice; he was just a guinea pig to his captors, smug in their spurious-scientific ways.

So long had he been without the warmth of the sun, and the cool kiss of Kyne?s winds. He was only young when they had stolen him from his coastal town, Lainlyn it could have been? But it was so long he is not sure, he does not even remember his own name; the sound of it was lost to his ears, so many years ago.

The only comfort he has, is the promise of a rare glimpse of hope in a slaves eye, before they are executed by his own words, just that small ray of hope is enough to remind him of his humanity, and the compassion he once had, before his soul had been numbed, and his heart blackened.

He would never be free of the prison that binds him, not until his lips would run cold, and his eyes darkened, which he feared would never happen now, because of what his captors had done.

Followers of the Worm-God are they, and darker they, than him, are.
