Traitors, Villains and Blasphemers ? By The Old Ye Bard
When walking in a cave, you fall into a trapped cage/cell.
There is a smuggler sitting on a stool next to the cage, his name is Tergrad.
Tergrad: Menye! Come quick! I got us a thief?r!
(Menye walks in from another part of the cave, replying to the smuggler as he does.)
Menye: What?
Tergrad: Look! They?s got all that nice stuff on ?em!
(Menye turns to the PC.)
Menye: Hmph? What are you doing here?
(There is a slight pause.)
Menye: Not the talking type? Well my name is Menye, and these caves belong to Thy?Reonata,
my Sloadic Employer. Now you?ve come at lucky time, as I had just the
need for an outsider right now; normally you would either be sent
directly to my Employer?s lab, which will still happen if you don?t
comply with what I need you to do.
(Player now is initiated into Dialogue system with Menye.)
Player: I don?t really have a choice do I?
Menye: Not really. So, now to what I need you to do; you see Thy?Reonata
isn?t the best of the employers, downright despicable really, and by
Employer, I mean more of a Slave Master who has bound my ?Co-Workers?
souls and mine into his will. Now what I need you to do his to kill
him; I will release you from your cage and you will go slit his throat,
do you understand?
Player: Yes, but why can?t you and your men just kill him?
Menye: We can?t because we are barred from harming our master. The last person who ?attempted? to kill Thy?Reonata, had seizures and was unconscious for days, just because he was holding a butter knife in a slightly threatening way near Thy?Reonata, and Thy?Reonata was asleep the entire time!
Player: I see?
Menye: Now go and kill him.
(Menye opens the cage.)
(Player now goes in search of Thy?Reonata. The key to leave is on his corpse, so to exit you must kill him.)
Thy?Reonata: Welcome mislead-traveller, I take it Menye has already preformed his act, and that the play will be played out accordingly?
Player: You know about the assassination?
Thy?Reonata: Why offcourse foolish
one, I am all knowing in my own realm of Knowledge. You see Menye, and
my other ?Servants? if you will, are just illusions created to taunt
me. I am to relive this day, over and over; 1008 years of the counting
of my days ago, I tried to out smart Herma-Mora, and take is place in
his realm, this ended very badly, and I was punished to relive this day
in and throughout eternity. I will not even know the end of this world,
for this day only repeats, and the Dragons Maw only reverses to move
again. The day of my entrapment would be yesterday for you, though I do
not expect you to understand that. You are destined to kill me now, but
I will be here again today, in your yesterday, where I will meet you
again, and die by your hands, that aren?t your hands. You will find
that you will not be able to leave my domain until you have killed me,
for you must. There has only been one occasion where you didn?t, that
freedom began and ended when a certain dragon let go of the wheel. I
will not fight you for it is pointless, go ahead and kill me.
Player kills Thy?Reonata. At this point all of the ?Servants? in the cave turn into dust (dust piles).
The player can then leave (But it would be wise to loot everything first).
End.
