Misc Quest: Trust and Sailors ? BY The Old Ye Bard
A (Redguard) woman approaches you (Marlee).
Marlee: Please help! My Husband Bryt has disappeared; I fear the Sload Ya?shk has taken him! Whom Bryt
cursed when the Sload resurrected an old fishing friend of his,
recently killed in a tragic harpoon accident. Please you must help; the
others in the town would not dare confront Ya?shk!
Player:
A. Yes I will help you. (Continue with quest)
B. No, I do not have the time. (You may come back later)
Marlee: Thank you! Please follow me, I will show you the way.
Marlee now leads you to the entrance of a cave.
Marlee: He is in there; please get Ya?shk to give me back my Bryt?
The player now goes through the cave, fighting a few undead here and there. The player finally gets to a large room, where Ya?shk stands in the middle. He begins to speak.
Ya?shk: So Marlee came through with the deal, eh? I guess that means she gets Bryt
back? but at least she has given me a more decent specimen to work on,
rather than that horrid peace of meat she calls a ?Husband?. I hope she
doesn?t mind that I got a little carried away with Bryt, I however like him with the flesh melted off his bones with acid.
Player: So this was a trap?
Ya?shk: My, my, you don?t have to
refer to this arrangement with such crude wording, this was a simple
deal negotiated between two parties, with my more than adequate skills
of over seeing the arrangement, to see that it was a ?fair? deal. She
got her beloved Bryt back, in more or less the same state, and I got a much better specimen to work on.
Player: Prepare to meet you doom, Sloadic devil!
Ya?shk: Oh how feisty!
The Player now goes into combat with the Sload. When dead, the PC exits the cave, to find outside that Marlee is dead and her now skeletal husband Bryt standing over her body. You then kill Bryt. When you kill him, his ghost appears.
Bryt?s Ghost: Oh my Marlee! She tried to save me, yet I killed her! I know I was under Ya?shk?s spell, but it was me that brought the steal through her skull, it was me who did the act!
Bryt's Ghost: I thank you for releasing me from my curse that Ya?shk placed upon me, I now go to the far shores where I will see my Marlee once again. Please take Marlee?s Key; it is to the savings in our home, I no longer have a need for it.
Player: Goodbye.
