Please keep in mind that I still need some dialogue for some characters on the ship (Not the towncrier, olurion and the captain)!

Edit: Rugg and the captain have died on the ship.

Alright, I have just completed the Ship.esp. I'm still waiting for a little dialogue direction by Deeza. I will continue working on the mainquest in the same esp. Just wanting to let you guys know that "the shipping part" is done.


Update on the .esm

Ok, after several issues during startup, most of them having to do with incorrect naming (i've ended up with loads of duplicates (?)), I can tell you , that yes, there are leveledMonsters wandering around, but no pathgrid. I guess I'l start pathing the islands for a beginning.

PS: You might find it interesting to know that there's no landmass displayed ingame whatsoever for the abescian islands. Trees etc. are present though.

Do you think you can fix the duplicate issue? If not, we may have to pass it on to Sandor later (he's the expert on that sort of thing). The bottom line is - are you still able to work on it?

If you could do the pathgrid that would be great.

Here's the dialogue you asked for:

Edit:
I have the same problem. I believe that its caused by compatibility issues with another mod. We will try to get that fixed later on. My copy of Oblivion is so over-modded it barely works. I need to do a clean reinstall.

I have no mods installed other than VW. It's not showing up whatsoever, and well.. It's quite hard to do the work that way.

Yes, I am able to continue my work because of the dublicateIssues. It doesn't actually conflict with anything. I hope the landscape won't have to be redone. I did the pathgrid thingie and am currently at the stage where he's supposed to fight of the spiders. Which is working great aswell, but .. I'm not quite able to playtest it since the landmass is missing. If we could get that fixed somehow soon, I could make the quests a lot less buggier I believe Yes

Edit: the Dialogue has been done, but I need more crazy lines for Craelius!

about the voice acting..

it could try asking the old Cyrodiil upgrade team, which I once was a part of, if anybody would be interrested in doing a few lines for us, I especially has a female voice actor in my mind,,

you think it would be a good idea??

Yes, definitely - voice actresses are quite rare! I think Ibsen's Ghost used to work with the CUT as well, but perhaps he used a different name... I really should PM him and ask if he is interested in helping.

By the way, have you tried playing the mod yet? There seem to be some issues with the landscape not appearing in-game and I wanted to know if you have a similar problem.

@drmccoy:

Its strange about the invisible ground. I think we will need sandor to take a look at it, but he's really hard to find. And yet, I know that it CAN work, because windsurfer used to make videos of the islands in-game. Perhaps it's an issue with an update patch for the game?

More dialogue for Craelius:

I didn't check it. Besides the landmass, the houses and the cave are missing aswell. The door to the cave is not working and the door to the little ship on the larger island is locked impossible. I haven't found any other NPCs besides mine so far. I'm creating the bosmer hunters atm.

The door to the ship was locked intentionally (the player needs a key to open it which they only get by completing the main quest). The door to the cave may simply be that it wasn't connected (is there a cave interior cell in the CS?)

Do any NPCs appear in the CS?

The cave does have an interior (done by me =D .. I did like two interiors for the mode like one year ago) and is linked. NPCs are showing up in the CS (in the houses), but there's no way to get into the houses since the houses are not displayed. LeveledCreatures are there, if you're talking about that. Other than that, there are no other NPCs in the exterior, neither in the CS, nor ingame.

To the Bosmer hunters. There are 8 of them patrolling the middle and the large isle. If the player comes close to one, they ask him to come with them, if he refuses to, they start a fight. All the other Bosmer Hunters will attack the player aswell.

EDIT: Where should I put the chief? What Island? Which house?

as for the landscape..

the islands has no LOD as far as I know..
EDIT: I remember the first time I played the mod, there was not land, only trees..
problem fixed by moving the valenwood esm. on top..

As for the voice acting.
a tread has been made on the old CUT forums.
lets hope for some replys..
- oh, and yes, ibsens ghost did a lot of voice work for us..


one more thing,, I remember long time ago when I played in the islands,
I started a quest called "the desperate collector" which didn't seem to have a ending, since the quest giver told me to go to silvernar..
- I just wanted to tell.

plus, there still is some unfinished interiors..
and I also noticed a cave made with the vanilla tile exterior, shouldnt that be switched in with the spider cave tile exterior??

I have have not seen any other quests than "the desperate collector"
but I remember a seing a quest about a bow, being discussed on these forums..

EDIT2: just remembered a huge bug I found long time ago..
the palms can be picked up. and dropped agian?? WTF?

another bug: some trees dosent have any collusion..
third bug: a lot of floating trees can be found thourgh out the isles.

Great. Can you set it so that the hunters run away when they get wounded below a certain level (otherwise it just wouldn't make sense the Chieftain speaking to the player if they've just killed 8 of his friends)

@simonp92:

This could solve our problem. Can you upload it for us?

As for the other things you mentioned, you're right on both counts. The cave needs to be replaced with the spider tileset and anything that refers to the mainland should be cut out (for now)

I just generated the LOD for the islands with a program called something4qlod. Didn't change anything except cluttered my data directory.
And WHERE should I put the chief? Should I make him run up to the player once he starts slaughtering his hunters? Or what? ^^

This could explain it all...

If the valenwood islands are part of the height map which is contained in the .esm and don't have a separate heightmap of their own, that would explain why it doesn't display in the game (because even though the landscape is loaded in the .esp it's still waiting for the .esm to call in...)

Do you have the Oblivion Mod Manager? That's the easiest way in my experience to change the load order.

At some point we are going to need to merge those two .esm files before we make a release, as well as make a .bsa archive of all the meshes and textures. But there are people here at Silgrad Tower who can do that for us.

In the meantime, can I have some screenshots (ATM my copy of Oblivion's having difficulties). I'd love to see how this version compares to the one in the old video.

Really? I use vista as well and have no problems... I just hit ctrl+F12. Then again I am running it on a mac...

Don't worry about it. Please just show me some screens in the CS of your progress on the quests from time to time - I'd love to see how it all turns out. Good job!

I have found a male voice actor from southern england.

his name is Skaera75b at liest on bethsoft forums.

he has agrees to do some line for us.
and also stated that he have a high quility microfone..

EDIT: he just told me that he maybe could get his girlfriend to do some lines aswell..

he should be with us soon.

Ok, about the vid. It's really crappy quality and my internet is being a bitch, so I guess I'll compile it into better quality and let my laptop do the rest later on tonight. Right now I'm sitting on the chief. I put him in an empty house on the large island. His name Is Arannir. I really suck at cluttering a completely round house though ^^

About the music: I don't know, but those are issues I'll take care of once I'm done with the quests and everything.

About the voice actor: That is truely great news!

I have include 3 female bosmer hunters. That's all that comes to my mind atm. I'm sure there'll be a lot more once I'm done with the main quest.

well, I remember that was some inhabitants on the island,
I can remember one female altmer, but I dont know her lines.. (she is involed in a quest)

they sounds quite fun.
