CS resources for newbloods(read newbs read me) Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       IP Information Go to the top of this page

I've been spending a few hours here and there in the CS and have had some fun building some rooms and such, and have the bsa unpacker and such just to get some understanding about it.
But what I want to do now is create a new item using the Repair hammer as the mesh and texture.
I haven't found any good tutorials on creating new items so if anyone has a link to some good info I would greatly appreciate it. The CS wiki wasn't very helpful/straightforward for anything other than landscaping and dungeon building.

Well, in MW you just opened up the item you wanted to clone, changed its internal name, and confirmed you wanted to create a new item after clicking OK. That should still work.

You'll definitely need to have extracted the hammer from the BSA, otherwise you won't be able to change to its model.

EDIT: by internal name I mean the thing_with_underscores, not the actual name you see ingame.

Ohhh, I remember seeing that. I had assumed if it was that easy there would be a duplicate option like there was will cells. I'll give it a try when I get home/

This may sound even stranger, but does anyone know of a way to create the zone effect from the old UT editor?
The idea is you can walk down a corridor forever since it contains a zone that warps you backwards seamlessly, or you fall through a floor via a zone that drops you somewhere else on the map. I know you can do this with doors as portals, but I am looking at a way to zone objects. E.g. you drop a knife into a hole and it falls from the sky. : /

Exactly. That's just one implementation though, since technically you can have a spacial link to a totally different area. Such as a hole in the basement that drops you into a storage room on the second floor. The benefit of this would be to create a maze that isn't limited to teleporting doors, or ways to transport items from place to place.
