Creating Interior Layouts |

Also
Hegemege please turn in the interior tileset for review before any
placement is done. I trust it may save time in the end if something is
not configured correctly. I will make a note for future reference in
the claims thread. Thanks. |
Do you think it'd be a good idea if we set up the layouts of the
interiors that are possible to create using the tilesets then attach
the esps in the relative threads? Or alternatively, create the interior
layouts and merge them to the esm?
I believe Silgrad Tower use this system and it works nicely. Makes it
easier for modders to get straight to work and they needn't worry about
layout, northmarkers etc. since we'll have placed them. |

At least I think so, sandors systems are perfect and full of information.
With the current tileset, making interiors look same as MW is not possible in every Balmora house (like my claim bookseller)

Yeah I noticed a few issues myself when creating the interior I claimed
with some of the assets, however tileset-wise it was okay for me since
the interior was only made of four pieces. I can't get the door to snap
though, which is a bit annoying considering the obvious seam visible
in-game.
I also noticed that the interior tileset pieces seem much larger than
the Morrowind interior pieces. But it's a nice set nonetheless, and we
should be grateful we have one. |

It seems like we must use the Hall tileset for interiors with many
floors BUT there isn't the particular Entrance piece, but I think it
can be created with wall pieces and the Doorjamb one... but we still
need a ceiling piece for it. I thought that maybe when there is a
interior like this
there can be added a little addon behind the stairs so that the
exterior models lowest level matches without exception. I think the
tileset will workout then...

Dave_91,
I think it is a very good idea to put together interior tilesets that
can be modded from the esm. It would eliminate a review on it and any
confusion as to tilesets. It does work well @ SC.
Hegemege,
Thanks for the info. If you want to choose a more striaght forward one
please do Dave_91 and I will get to work on the interior tilesets. You
can keep your claim on this and when the tileset is put together it
will be yours.

I think the important thing isn't necessarily getting the interior to
match TES3 exactly, it's really about getting the interior to match the
exterior, as long as it's reasonably close to TES3.
If the core were to make ESPs with the interiors, as Silgrad does, they
could ensure that the interiors and exteriors matched nicely.
And the Hlaalu set has a few quirks... I've found that it IS possible
to do more than you would think with it, you just have to be inventive
with the free-standing walls, wooden posts, ect in order to make it
look good.
Not sure what Hegemege is trying to do exactly, but i'm pretty sure
that the normal room tileset should be used for multiple floors. That's
what I did, and it worked out fine.

You are spot on that the interiors only need to match the exterior. The photo's are for understanding.
