I agree totally. Posters, especially flyers and comical classified ads on walls of newspaper shop or a notice board in bar/town hall etc.
Also I would love to see my wolf drawing hung in a few houses! maybe if a few artists from the forum could submit paintings, use some of the concept art. All one off bits of detail. Also tie the concept art into literature.
Bus as far as posters etc...

Add addresses to these and they could be genuine ads to trigger side missions. Read, and take them to trigger the mission.
I like the idea of using posters to trigger quests. That's something that would happen even today's day in age, like a job ad, cuz jobs are just really long quests and your boss is a raid boss. ^.^
I think we could make good use of that, and I believe the tavern/bar would be the best place to make the center of such ads.
Leo Gura used posters in 'Lost Spires'. Good ones that many people wanted to use as house decorations. Maybe he knows a thing or two...

I could certainly use a poster that calls on readers to join Great House Redoran. If I had a poster like that I'd plaster it on every noticeboard in town
Maybe once the new palace exterior is modelled it can feature in a poster?
Also an uncle sam style poster recruiting for any armies?

There could be a title at the top that says something general, like maybe:
Great House Redoran
seeks new recruits
Then a sketch of the palace in the middle of the poster, and then on the bottom portion two columns of illegible text. I can write the text later on, which the player can read by clicking on the poster, but the graphic representation of the text on the poster should probably be illegible just in case we need to change the written text in the future. Do you think that would work?
sounds easy, and great. Easy great ideas make for good mods!
Suppose these posters (Sorry Razorwing!) could be seen posted over, and with throwing knives stuck in em in other areas? and vice versa. I think we need to get posters, flyers, job ads etc into all the mods on this forum if poss. A nice easy addition and a good novel way to start many lide quests logged and not! Some can just be funny links, lonely heart ads and you go spy on the person or whatever, just out of your own curiosity. Just easy depth to the game.
