i thought of giving the Tsaesci ears, is that okay?

How do snakes hear?

They don't
They smell with their tongue, and identify what they've smelled with Jacobson's organ
And They have two "ears" wich detect vibrations in the ground.

There are concepts for two tsaesci playables. As you have seen, one with legs and one without.

The one with legs might fit with having real ears. We would have to look at it and see. There is a high probability that some people would really hate this just so you know.

The one without legs would probably need the sensory methods you describe.

It would not hurt to post some preliminary sketches of each. We can see where this goes and when Kodama sees them he can give further feed back.

Maybe some of them could have horns in the same place as ears, like some of the Vanilla the Argonians do?

Just an idea how about ,due to snakes ability to detect other animals, the tsaesci have a toggled detect life spell.
