I like it! :yes: Flowing cloth must be very difficult to make without looking stiff and keeping in mind that arms and legs bend but mesh fabric doesn't. Like long sleeves and things ... I don't mind more meshes. More variety will make it look better, like Kodama said. It gets old fast seeing the same clothing everywhere. -_-*
I have lots of mon so dividing them up among colors and clans should be no problem. I just need to make sure I'm getting the first one right so that I can use it to do the others. I hand-erased the white box around the kiku mon. I then tried to emboss it and turn it gold, but it doesn't look very gold to me. Should I switch it back to red, or is this okay? And is the rest of the kiku size on the kimono okay? I can make the print smaller, but if it gets too small, it will look like red dots instead of kiku. It all depends on what effect you want -- whether to have uniforms that would blend or stand out on the battlefield. Shinsengumi had bold design and color, but many others wore browns, grays, and blacks. Since Knifeblossom is red, I'm assuming they are taking the bold approach, but let me know if it's too bold. ^_^
The female hakama beside it is a sample of how I'm trying to use old prints to get a feel for authentic, yet fanciful. (This is fantasy, afterall.) The male version of the outfit is ninpo for that bound bottom legging.

The gold kiku mon looks good as it is now, i think it's a good idea to reduce the size of the red kiku mon a little bit :yes:
And i like to see bold colors for Knifeblossom, they are very bold people.

Flowing clothes are very hard to work with. The over coat thing in that Pic is giving me problems when I attempt to rig it. There is major clipping whenever the skeleton moves its arms, and I have been trying to fix it. Oh, that reminds me who better to beta test some of my new meshes than you? I have some pleated hakama I think you could work wonders with. I will PM you the new meshes once I have finished more of them.
Kodama, I know it is off subject but have you finished the kyudo files I sent you? You can probably release them now.

I will look for a very good texture to get that one right. I've been experimenting with plaids, too. Doesn't look exactly plaid (matching the lines exactly is too difficult), but it's enough to give the impression of a plaid.I updated the kimono mon. This size okay? Or smaller?

Well, don't make them any smaller.
I'm not sure... but maybe i like the big kiku better, the small kiku pattern makes the sleeves look crowded with them

Well, here is my latest experiment. I had two very small textures that just didn't look right when they were resized big -- became blurry. But I liked the way it mapped itself over the kimono bottom and sleeves. To me, this big design on solid background looks more like an old embroidered kimono, rather than machine print yukata style. But ... it was yucky blurry, so I tried to see if I could play around with filters to help it and came up with this. It's an embroidery filter with some extra sharpening. I thought it looked a like wool, personally. but that made it look very wintery and warm. Or maybe I am just cold right now. :tongue:
Anyway, this gave me two ideas for the military uniforms, if the mon over the kimono looks too much. I put it back to normal size for now because I can't space out the tile. But I could possibly shrink the mon and paste it onto a large solid background to put more space between the mon. Or, if you want a more plain uniform, I could leave the kimono solid like the other clothing, but paste some mon in selective places, like front shoulders only. Or I can stick with first look -- bold kiku on kimono. Thoughts?

I have only one small release with four patterned kimono combinations based on Corthian's mesh release at TESSource ("Kielanai no Kimono", ... "Kielanai's Kimono" , ... something like that. Just search for "Kielanai" since I can't remember how I titled it.) -_-* I really should check and see if they could be updated because I've already learned some new things since releasing that. The rest of these are for the project and will be released with it, unless I hear otherwise.
Meanwhile, ... here is my last experiment of the night, using the paste applique method to put a single design in specific location. This is a method that could prove VERY useful, once I get a feel for how to place the pasted items. I think it turned out okay, ... except the kanji flipped backwards.
