Su~goiyo! Ureshii ureshiiyo!! So happy, so happy. :bounce: Thanks so much, Corthian! I think I understand what you meant, so I tried making two layers and making one transparent. I still need to play with how to not lose the brightness of pattern color, but it worked! I was able to have my patterns and the folds and shadows, too. :applause: Also thanks to everyone else for the encouragement. I really was about to give up on being able to do clothing, but now I'm glad I kept trying because I did learn something new.
Edit: Her arms and hands are different colors because I'm using the Better Bodies mod for her, I think. Pay no attention to that. The clothing switches to my drow model just fine.
Yes, I would be happy to do ground textures and icons! Is the generic ground model I showed okay? Or are you making specific models for each item?
Now to hope the link works ... Oops! I interrupted her doujou practice. Kielanai! You should be happy for me! Put the sword down!

I thought that might work. I am glad you were able to texture your clothes. I have no plans to create a new ground mesh in the immediate future, so a generic mesh is just fine.

Kielanai, the weather for the game is scripted per region (Akavir has many regions just like Cyrodill).
Every region in Akavir can have any type of weather i want it to have, for example: the Kniveblossom region could have 50% chance of sun, 25% chance of cloudy wheather, 20% chance of rain and 5% chance of a thunderstorm.
So you hear thunder once or twice a year!? :eek: That's not very often, we got thunder storms all the time.
We also have an unusually warm winter this year, we got tiny ducklings born in the middle of the winter... poor things, i hope they will survive.
I corrected Corthians name because many people read all of this and i want them to get our names right, besides... i'm sure that Corinth is an ancient greek city
So you fixed your texturing problem, that's great news! =)
You can use all of the textures for your house mod, no problem... but it would be nice if you make us one or two textures that are exclusively for Akavir, i'm ok with whatever you want
I don't think Corthian will have to model new ground meshes, so what you showed is ok :check:

So, weather is percentage. 50% sun -- I think I want to move to Knifeblossom. ^_^ Poor ducklings! Yeah, I think the strange weather is messing up a lot of natural calendars like that.
Okay, here are a few screens of an antique kimono texture that has been difficult to get "just right". The kimono is embroidered, so I wanted a bit more texture to this one than the cotton type. Top original is purple design with white sakura branches across the shoulders and back. Back original is mostly purple, but with a yellow wave and red corner -- design is a large fan with a waterfall over ocean waves and a bamboo beach. I knew I wouldn't be able to reproduce the real thing, so I clipped a square of sakura out of the back shoulder area and a square out of the fan and ocean area. This is the best I have been able to piece it together so far, but I have one more thing I want to try for the bottom to try to get the entire beach embroidery the way it should be. But this doesn't look too bad, or maybe I should say it looks better than it did.
Suggestions, or is this okay?The geta are colored gray with straps that match the kimono. Tabi are Corthian's basic white tabi. For ground models, I used one of the sandal models from the game and just colored it with the geta wood pattern. Is that okay? For the tabi, I found some shoes that look a little like slippers, and I can use tabi texture. For all other clothing, this is a basic shirt mesh that I can color with whatever the main fabric is. (I will swap the top for the bottom on this one, now that it has the neck lines, but this gives an idea. If more detail on ground clothing is desired, I might be able to use a game robe mesh.

Also, I will cut down on number of outfits with house -- maybe four. They are all from the mod resource Corthian already released, so only the textures will be new. Of course he will get credits.
But someone else has put them in-game, so I will list that in my resource list for players who download my kojima. That way, there are a few Akaviri clothing items available now, but everything else goes to project. :check:Edit: Mirrored, I just saw your post! I can try to make tutorial. I work with GIMP, though. I don't know Photoshop.
Edit2: I made a successful transparent template for the kimono! :banana: So, now all I have to do is post pattern, layer template over it, and darken or lighten according to need. I still have to paint the little white portion, and do the hakama cut-outs by hand, but that's a whole lot better than trying to do the whole thing!

Well, let me know if anything seems strange. I know that sometimes Japanese color combinations or designs strike westerners a little differently because I have an American friend who went shopping for her first kimono, and she complained afterwards about how the obi/ kimono combinations the woman was bringing to her didn't coordinate at all. It's just not what she was used to, but I'd like to find something that could please both cultures.Okay, these are the four pairs (each has a gender alternate) that are 100% complete. I will leave them in the trunk in the minka when I release the Kojima revision (hopefully today or tomorrow). Everything else I was working on will be edited out and saved for the project. Thanks so much for letting me slip a few in to help with the overall feel of the setting.

I still have a few rough places in design that trouble me, but for the most part I know what I'm doing now.
So, that leads to two new questions.1. Mirrored, you requested a tutorial. How much do you already know about texturing and GIMP? Should I make this a "how to retexture with GIMP" thing, or a "how to retexture with patterns" thing?
2. How many outfits do you need from each class for the project? I think the original game has about 15 sets? And do you want them all different, or "variations on a theme". (In other words, do you want lots of new textures, or do you want me to maximize a few textures by switching tops and bottoms?)
