I would add the version number to the description instead of the filename, that way stuff like dialog which is effected by the esp name doesn't have problems.
If you merge an esp to an esm after you recorded the voice files you have to change the ID's and paths for these voice files. It's best to merge an esp before you record the VW. So adding a version number to an esp name doesn't matter.

And not just a version number relating to the state of completion of the actual esp...?
That's what I meant, for example a modder attaches an esp with v1.0. If the modder decides to make a few changes it will become v1.1 and so on.

Also, the latest esm is actually smaller in filesize than the last esm. What's with that? - There are various reasons, from time to time I optimize the esm, this has no effect on the modded content.
- Cleaning the esm in general.
- Deleting statics etc.
- The land records and the placed content make up the bulk of the data.
Without the BM worldspaces the BM esm is only 1.18 Mb (interiors, statics, scripts etc.) compared to the current 20,9 Mb. Deleting a lot of placed content ---> this will reduce the size of the esm.
In this case M37BMKPBlackmarshNorth3.esp reduced the size of the esm, a lot of refs were deleted.
The size of an esp (many esp's are bloated) doesn't say anything about the final size of the esm after the merge, it depends on how many FormID's were added and/or removed.

Pholmolo Reedhut 04.esp
Clutters the original interior claim.
Adds one NPC + basic AI according to description: Gakkus Turj
Adds pathgriding and vertex shading around the living area of pholmolo village and the market place.
Re-positions the new wood stair models so they work properly.
fixes error 13
slightly repositions/replaces some objects in pholmolo village.
If I continue to edit pholmolo i should use the same .esp right? and just update this when I am done? I thought you might as well have a copy what matters is done. Might be a plan for Joey2k to hold off on the AI for his NPC in the other hut until a new .esm with the merged pathgrid/movement of various objects?

Thanks, LR. I'll send J2K a PM about that. I think he's happy enough handling the interior anyway. Pholmolo is coming along nicely... =)....btw, I still need some help with implementing the 'Argonian headsets'. Most of Pholmolo's inhabitants should have them, I think. I just don't have time at the moment with everything else going on.
And yes, it's best to rename your esp with a version number e.g. this one might be v1, the next will be v2, or if you think you'll be doing a lot of stuff, make it v1.1, v1.2 etc.

As mentioned in the latest update on the archive thread, this is a bit of an unexpected 'emergency update' but version 2.13 of the esm is now here and will be updated here shortly (please refresh this post which will be edited with the download link).
The latest esm includes:- Gideon (more or less) complete (Phinius Master)
- Pholmolo Hut Claim #4 (llamaranger)
- Blackwood: North - completed landscape (Ibsen's Ghost)
- Northern Stormhold interiors inc. new cave entrances (Ibsen's Ghost)
- Hixinoag structurally complete - needs clutter and yurts (Ibsen's Ghost)

DL version 2.14 of the BM esm -=here=-.
Merged since v2.12:
- M39 BMIG - MoreLandscapes - v1.7
- M40 BMPH - Gideon_NewLayout v2
- M41 BMLR - PH04
- Ibsen's Ghost - 07-29-2009
Thanks sandor... :goodjob: Please use archive v2.13 for now, folks. I'll be experimenting with the bsa format now and that should end up being archive v2.14. For those with poor bandwidth, please note that you should be fine using a lower version archive so as long you are modding something fairly small or within a localised area....
