each race should probably have it's own culture thread, and I had ideas for the Vesmerkaz, so here we go
The Vesmerkaz divulge little of their history and traditions to other
races, and have few written records, preferring to stick to their
strong oral tradition. They rarely involve themselves with the politics
and bickering of the other races unless they stand to make a good
profit of it. Vesmerkaz mercenaries are to be found throughout
Aldmeris; they fight fiercly and mercilessly, and are incredibly loyal
to the highest bidder. The Crestmer royal palace has a company of
Vesmerkaz mercenaries guarding the outermost walls.
The process for making their Igneous armor is described in the
"Artifacts of Aldmeris" thread. They sometimes sell suits with
insufficient quantities of trace metals and tiny crystals, which are
considered inferior and unfit for their own use.

sounds good to me, but we still need to add some stuff to it, like what
their architecture is like, and what kind of clothes and armor they
wear.

The vezmerkaz make things completely out of the earth, using precious
alloys found only in their unique realm to build, they have mastered
the art of geomancy, and form their cities from the earth itself, they
are the primary weapons dealers of the continent, I do not agree that
they arnt itno politics, lets make a huge political web, weapons wise,
they are the russia of aldmeris.

okay, I can do that
Armor:
Heavy - Igneous Armor - The Vesmerkaz create armor made of igneous rock
with joints of Etrurium (gold, silver and titanium alloy[it's not
real]) chain. and are almost always enchanted. In fact, an unenchanted
suit is considered incomplete. Many Cresmer and Senmer enchanters seek
out unenchanted Igneous Armors to create their dream suits. They divert
lava flows from active volcanoes into molds of the armor pieces, which
they cool and inspect for trace metal and crystalline substance
content. These metals and crystals are necessary for powerful
enchantments, but too much crystalline mineral content makes the armor
brittle and therefore, and too little crystal and metal means it can't
contain strong enchantments. These inferior armors are usually sold or
less commonly returned to the volcano from whence they came.
Light - Etrurium Armor - Chainmail made from Etrurium, an alloy of
gold, silver and titanium, which not only is very resilient, but
receptive to enchantment. Strict measures on impurities are kept, only
allowing for the presence of a tiny amount of carbon, or else the suit
is deemed defective and sold off at a relatively low price. This armor
is worn by Vezmerkazi scouts, and light infantry.
defective suits of both kinds of Vezmerkazi armor can usually be found among many Vesmerkaz commonders and wealthy Cresmer
Weapons
Blade - consist of long cut obsidian set into decorated etrurium hilts.
Blunt - (maces) Decorated etrurium handles anchoring a large lump of
igneous rock (axes) Etrurium handles and cup, wide, flat cut obsidian
Bows - Ferontium (Iron, titanium, and mercury alloy, placeholder name),
a metal with very springy attributes, but not so strong to make it hard
to shoot. Users must wear gloves so as not to be poisoned by the
mercury. (arrows) steel shaft, obsidian head.

yes, me likes it. I tried to imply that they do get into politics if
they get something good out of it, but I guess I didn't say that very
well.

Appearance: Their skin is an etheral silver tone, and in darker
environments is glows a very soft red, they have striking black eyes,
and are unusualy strong for their size.

it could be natural camoflage for their volcanic environments.
architecture
The common Vesmerkaz houses are made by taking six rectangular slabs of
granite or similar common volcanic and using mortar or lava to cement
them together, then carving door arches and windows into the completed
structure.
The upper class and military buildings are made by professional
stonemasons. These buildings are often made into complex geometric
forms.
Clothing
The common people wear clothings woven from the fibers of the ferns resilient enough to thrive near the volcanic peaks.
Many richer Vesmerkaz wear clothing imported from the Crestmer or Senmer.

Would it be possible that the more powerful earth-shapers would form
their buildings in complex geometric shapes, so that they more resemble
things like crystals?
Could provide a source for the fabled glass-architecture of summerset, at any rate...

I like the idea of earthen structures too, but it would make sense that
people who mold their structures from the ground might have a special
admiration for the geometry of crystals. Perhaps their temples could be
crystalline?

Since they work with what they have, perhaps their priests make
pilgramages to the crystal desert and use these crystals as
ornamentation, sparringly, but the high temple s made entirely out of
them, gathered over centuries?

Not so much gathered. I get from this thread that they live in a
volcanic region, so it wouldn't be impossible for them to use their
geomancy combined with the extreme heat and pressure of the volcanoes
to create crystal from the minerals themselves, in the locations where
the conditions were right.

All but one volcanoe is dead though, and one would gather that they
would rather use the strong crystal, rather tahn the semi=strong
volcanic glass, the main reason is I don't want to copy the dunmeri
glass armour story.

Of course not, but even a region of dead volcanoes can have some places
where there's extreme subterranean heat/pressure, with which they could
use the same minerals they use for other structures, but forged into a
whole structure made of one solid crystal. It wouldn't be so much like
the glass thing, really, and since they could only make these temples
in specific places they'd have even greater significance to the
culture's religion.
