judging by the name it is probably nordic in origin. or simply very early nedic, since shor is related to elven conquest (good theme on HR).

I would expect it to have a temple to Lorkhan/Shor/what-ever-else-he-is-called, atleast a demolished one (do I smell quests?). Also, if you decide to go with curent time shor worship I think that they would be quite oposed to magic and to elves. More on the shor theme, perhaps this was the last nedic city to be asimilated into meri culture?

So, that was the Nordic Shor asociated ideas. let us move on to Sheor, the curent breton view of him! since he is basicaly associated with bad things happening, perhaps this city was founded by missfourtute? for example a group of refugees from some war? Or perhaps it was the exact oposite, guarded from bad things? Shor's helm could mean that it was guarded from shor, and therefore had a very good time....

btw, I need a good name for my brainstorms...

Current ideas that we've had for Shornhelm place it as the 'capital' of the Duchy of Shornhelm, but for all intents and purposes the duchy is ruled by Northpoint in everything but name.

Hm. So it is, but only on the map... I'll see if I can find other sources listing it as Shornhelm, as the map from the new PGE isn't what we go off of... since they seemed to change spellings at random.

In terms of city names, though, we don't use that map as primary resource. Evermore as example. In PGE's map it says Evermor, in PGE's text it says Evermore. Ted took precedence.
