Joinable Factions of High Rock
1. Fighters? Guild
The Fighters? Guild in High Rock is similar to its counterparts in
other provinces, as all serve the same essential purpose as an
imperially chartered guild. Most of their work in High Rock consists of
protecting merchants and apprehending smugglers in the West, and
protecting against Reachmen and Nords in the East.
Ranks:
Associate, Apprentice, Journeyman, Protector, Defender, Warder, Guardian, Champion, Warrior, Master
2. Mages? Guild
<coming soon>
Ranks:
Apprentice, Journeyman, Evoker, Conjurer, Magician, Warlock, Wizard, Master Wizard, Arch-Mage
3. Thieves? Guild
The Thieves? Guild in High Rock is similarly secretive to its
counterpart in Cyrodiil, but is less strict in its enforcement of
rules. The High Rock Thieves? Guild has no code against the slaying of
others while on a job, though it is discouraged, and in some
specialized cases, forbidden. The leader of the High Rock Thieves?
Guild is not known, and many believe they have no single leader.
Ranks:
Toad, Filcher, Footpad, Blackcap, Operative, Bandit, Captain, Ringleader, Mastermind, Master Thief
4. Knights of the Dragon
The Knights of the Dragon are the army of the Kingdom of Daggerfall.
They are sworn to protect King Gothryd and to follow his every command,
and they will protect Daggerfall?s territory with their lives. The
Knights of the Dragon adhere to a strict code of honor and tradition,
reflecting the nature of the kingdom itself.
Ranks:
Aspirant, Squire, Gallant, Chevalier, Keeper, Champion, Knight Errant,
Knight Bachelor, Knight Protector, Knight Lord of the Dragon
5. Knights of the Rose
The Knights of the Rose are the army of the Kingdom of Wayrest. They
swear their allegiance to the throne and to Queen Elysana. The Knights
of the Rose are less bound by ceremony than their counterparts in
Daggerfall, which has led the latter to question their integrity and
validity as true Knights. There is a continual rivalry between the two,
and their respective captains have struggled to avoid an outbreak of
war due to the tension.
Ranks:
Recruit, Trooper, Agent, Champion, Knight Errant, Knight Brother,
Commander, Marshal, Seneschal, Paladin, Knight Lord of the Rose
6. Knights of the Boar
Due to Evermore?s recent and rapid rise in power, and their inability
to cope with their newly acquired territory, the Knights of the Boar
are decidedly less professional than the Knight Orders of the Iliac
Bay. The Knights of the Boar are often regarded as a near-mercenary
group, often disloyal to the throne and plagued by irregularity, and
public drunkenness; however, the new captain of Evermore?s Knightly
Order has a strong drive and a desire to professionalize the wily
Knights of the Western Reach.
Ranks:
Recruit, Soldier, Gallant, Keeper, Warder, Protector, Warrior, Knight Defender, Knight Errant, Knight Lord of the Boar
7. Akatosh Chantry
The Akatosh Chantry is based in the Kingdom of Wayrest, as the Dragon
God is that region?s patron deity of the Imperial Pantheon. Members of
the Akatosh Chantry must be in good legal standing and deemed worthy of
serving the Dragon God, and priests offer various healing services as
well as spells.
Ranks:
Novice, Initiate, Acolyte, Adept, Curate, Disciple, Brother, Diviner, Master, Patriarch
8. Temple of Kynareth
Kynareth is the patron of the Kingdom of Daggerfall, and her Temple?s
order is based in that Kingdom. The Temple of Kynareth?s priests and
laymembers are renouned healers throughout High Rock, and are known for
their abilities in curing disease and poisons. New members must be
deemed worthy of service to the Lady, and in good legal standing.
Ranks:
Novice, Initiate, Acolyte, Adept, Curate, Disciple, Brother, Diviner, Master, Patriarch
9. League of Rogues
The League of Rogues is a group of scouts, rangers, and other rogue
types that operate from the Kingdom of Camlorn. They have presence
throughout High Rock and are often hired as mercenaries and scouts by
the various kingdoms of the province, and for missions as spies.
Ranks:
Initiate, Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Agent, Finder, Traveler, Spy, Operative, Spymaster
Unjoinable (NPC) Factions of High Rock
1. School of Julianos
The School of Julianos is a scholarly religious order based at the
University of Daggerfall. They are a sort of ?layman?s school,? in the
sense that they are scholars that are typically separate from the Guild
of Mages, and from Magic in general. Known for their reproduction of
various texts, their books fetch a considerably higher price than
mass-produced, printed volumes, and are their primary source of funding
for the University and their studies.
Ranks:
Student, Apprentice, Initiate, Acolyte, Curate, Researcher, Disciple, Scholar, Master Scholar, Patriarch
2. Order of the Raven
Though the Kingdom of Dwynnen is largely dissolved, the Order of the
Raven has managed to persist as an elite group of mercenaries. Famous
for their order?s valor in leading the battle against the Camoran
Usurper, they claim to be the greatest warriors in all Tamriel. They
are highly ceremonial and recruit few members from outside, and take
only the most important of contracts, making them little threat to the
more-widespread Fighters? Guild.
Ranks:
Squire, Gallant, Captain, Champion, Knight, Knight Brother, Knight
Errant, Knight Bachelor, Knight Protector, Knight of the Order of the
Raven
3. Order of the Lamp
The Order of the Lamp is the martial arm of the Mages? Guild. Its
members are mostly warriors, with some battlemages, and their
responsibility is the protection of the members of the Mages? Guild.
Members of the Order of the Lamp are counted as members of the Mages?
Guild, and are allowed the use of Guild services as any member would
be. Their leader answers directly to the High Rock Arch-Mage.
Rank:
Apprentice, Journeyman, Swordsman, Protector, Defender, Marshal, Commander, Captain, Knight, Knight of the Lamp
4. Order of the Hour
The Order of the Hour is the strong arm of the Akatosh Chantry, and
guard the Dragon?s temples and priests. They are a small faction made
up of paladins of the highest order. Their members have the same rights
as the members of the Chantry itself.
Ranks:
Novice, Initiate, Acolyte, Adept, Curate, Disciple, Brother, Master, Knight of the Hour, Paladin of Akatosh
5. Kynaran Order
The Kynaran Order is the military arm of the Temple of Kynareth, and
guards the Lady?s temples and priests. They consist of Paladins and
Warrior-Healers, and have the same rights as members of the Lady?s
temple.
Ranks:
Novice, Initiate, Acolyte, Adept, Curate, Disciple, Brother, Master, Knight of the Air, Paladin of Kynareth

It somehow seems uneccesary to me to have 2 religious factions, besides role-playing reasons.

I probably would've done just the Imperial Cult or something, but
Daggerfall had a number of different temples, and I was pretty
unbalanced in terms of magick/combat/stealth factions.

Just looked over the list you put together Hrafnkel and it looks really good. Thanks for posting it!
I particularly like that you included Rangers in a faction. That's a
popular class, but it didn't get looked at very much in MW or HR. One
thing I've not seen a lot in the TES games are faction aimed at that
type of character.
If I had my druthers (and if mods didn't require so much work) I'd love
to see one or more ranger specifc quests utilizing the mountain terrain
of the province. Any outdoorsy type calss would postively thrive on
that, I suspect.
Just my 2 cents worth.
P.S.
Been down with a cold over the weekend. Apologies for the absence.

I just needed another 'stealth' type class, and figured "Hey, no one ever pays attention to rangers!"
Here's some info we've/(I've
They're mine!) added to the Knights of the Rose.
Knights of the Rose (Wayrest)
Pros:
More freedom than in the Knights of the Dragon order, illegal stuff is
looked over if it's done outside the kingdom's borders (unless it's
murder). Moderate faction standing between ranks. Access to very good
equipment (and also unique equipment to the order), high payment in
higher ranks.
Cons:
Rewards not quite as good as Knights of the Dragon.
Hierarchy and Structure:
Aside from Wayrest itself, the effective center of operations for the
Knights of the Rose is Vermeir, due to its proximity to the
Wayrest-Daggerfall border. The captain of the Order is stationed at
Vermeir?s fortress and has Lordship over the town.
There are two Knight Lords of the Rose under the Captain, stationed at
Baelton and Thorvale. Each of these Knight Lords has 3 Knights under
his direct command, tending to be either of the rank Knight Brother or
Commander, as well as a detachment of 500 troops, and various
assistants/personal agents of Marshal, Seneschal, or Paladin rank.
Under these Knight Brothers/Commanders are a handful of Knight Errants
who serve a similar purpose to the agents working under Knight Lords,
and each errant is aided by a Champion. Commanders are in charge of a
detachment of 50 men. Individuals of the Agent rank may receive work
from any individual who ranks above him, and soldiers of Recruit and
Trooper ranks tend to be simple footsoldiers.
Promotions past the rank of Trooper are rare and only issued by a
Knight Errant or higher who sees promise in an individual. At the rank
of Agent, one should expect to be sent on more meaningful tasks that
require more finesse and skill. If deemed to show incredible promise in
the ways of Knighthood, a Knight Errant may select an Agent as their
Champion. From there, they might eventually progress to become a Knight
Errant themselves by succeeding in some feat of skill or honor, and
being knighted by a Knight Lord, or Count. After being knighted, a
Knight Errant goes into the service of a Knight Brother or a regional
Commander. If he shows exceptional skill in these areas, he might
progress to the rank of Knight Brother and be taken into service of a
Knight Lord. Upon progression to the rank of Commander, one becomes
responsible for his troops and often has some of them aid him on his
various missions.
When promoted to Marshal, one becomes an agent of the Knight Lord
himself, and moves from there to Seneschal, and then to the rank of
Paladin. From this point, he must appeal to Queen Elysana to be
appointed Knight Lord of the Rose, after proving himself in a series of
tests. One only qualifies to be considered for the tests after
succeeding in a mission of extreme difficulty or importance. As a
Knight Lord, one gains lordship over a town in the kingdom, and its
respective fortress.
DA and Gyssar would have more info on the structuring of the KotB and KotD.

You misunderstand, the KotB are central to evermore and I am head of evermore, we aren't claming factions.

DA is a core member, and had claimed Evermore quite a while ago. Only
Daggerfall, Evermore, Orsinium and Wayrest are currently claimed. The
only factions from this list that've been claimed are the kingdoms'
respective knightly orders.

will there be a vampire clan/guild? If so, maybe we could let them turn into bats
No?
Well how about just a vampire clan without the turning into bat part?
No?
Well then I guess at least I tried.

Not sure about a faction, but I certainly would like to incorporate the Iliac Bay-style of vampires.
